Sounds like the same occurrence that happened between Silas and Newble earlier in the year... The Newble signing was bad from the get go. I'm not sure why the Cavs wanted to lock up a role player for 4 years. Not a very wise decision at all.
First game for Nailon... 16 minutes, 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, was 4-4 from the line and 3-7 from the field. Most important, Cavs win. I would be very happy with this type of production every night.
If Nailon can give us a consistant 8 points or so off the bench, I would be very happy with the signing. As long as he isn't giving up 10 pts on the other end.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr_Infante:</div><div class="quote_post">Its 10 more points than Bremer would have had last night. Strong debute by Nailon.</div> LMFAO! Cold but true.
Hehe... thanx to Paxon for this one again, I think Nailon fits good in Cavs, and if he don't, I'm glad Cavs got rid of Bremer.
Still pissed that they didn't sign him early enough to be in the playoff roster!!! Hey people, you all remember Bremers debut where he got 20 points first up. Did he score another 20 points in total since that game??? Lets hope Nailon can be a little more consistent then JR.
why can't Nailon be on the playoff roster?? and from what i seen last night from my great seats, Nailon is a pretty good passer... he had that no-look pass to JK and then he did a no-look pass to Battie and he did something.. Nailon is a great talent and we should keep him.. He's better than Newble I think..

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CBBI:</div><div class="quote_post">Lets not get carried away. He is a pretty good bench guy, that's about it.</div> Exactly CBBI.... Which means he would have been very handy come playoff time! Its good to have options, but by us not signing him a few days earliier was stupid and reduces our options and flexibility come playoff time!
It appears as though Nailon will indeed be eligible for the playoffs. The rule states that a player is eligible to be on a playoff roster if he is free agent before the March 1st deadline. Since Nailon was a free agent before then, he is ok to play in the playoffs even though we signed him after March 1. A guy like Bremer, for example, who was cut after March 1st and thus became a free agent after the deadline arrived, would not be eligible to be on a playoff roster if some team were to pick him up.
^ Thankyou oh wise one! Thats very good news redscoon. I had a good blow up about that. Nailon has shown he can be a key scorer off the bench which allowed Williams back into the lineup. Paxson is back in the clear again.
We now have a clear 8-9 man rotation! PG : McInnis/Ollie SG : James/Wagner SF : Williams/Nailon PF : Boozer/Battie C : Ilgauskas/Battie Spot minutes : Kapono, Diop, Newble IL : Brown, Boumtje Boumjte Even Wagners minutes are not guarenteed lately!
If Diop would stop thinking he is Paul Pierce and stop talking those mid range shots, he would probably be in the rotation.
We need Diop to be ready as we cant expect Battie to be able to complete the season without some knee dramas! That also means Williams and Nailon will play a little power forward, although Silas does like to use Newble in there at times!
