<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jackson can play the team game as he showed in San Antonio, and can be a leading man, as he is beginning to prove in Atlanta. A mix of those two is required in Cleveland</div>

This to me is key area. He has all the abilities we need at small forward, but its the willingness the play a role here that is important!

I think the Cavs can use more attitude and flare. AllNet is right, he is not like Ricky at all.

Stephen Jackson would be a good addition as long as we didn't break the bank.

Jackson is young (25) and he has the size at 6'8" to play the SF spot. He has solid three point range and is best at shooting threes on kickouts out of the post as he showed when he was Tim Duncan's teammate. This is probably a great reason to bring him in because right now, I feel that Jeff is the only guy Z trusts kicking it out to for the long jumper. I like his heart and desire too.

All I could see Jackson would have to do is he would have to accept being a role player as he was in San Antonio and improve his shot selection as well as commitment to defense. He won't hurt our transistion game either...

Bring him in for the right price, he is like adding a draft pick (seeing as how we don't have one).

It's kinda hard to explain, someone who knows it exactly will tell you.

sort of off topic, but about mcinnis's recent 3-point prowess, I just had to mention at the pacers game, lebron had a beautiful assist when after some good ball movement by the cavs, there was a mixup in the pacers defense and jeff was all alone in the corner waving for the ball (i believe he was open because the pacers d had collapsed around either z or lebron) - lebron got the ball, didn't show any sign he saw jeff, and did a fantastic hard drive to the basket drawing 3 pacers defenders and just shot off a great pass to jeff just as he got to the basket - and jeff made the 3 point shot, his second of the night and a huge one

If we make the playoffs, our first rounder goes to Phoenix to complete the Wes Person deal from so many years ago.

Maybe after my Cleveland source gave me a scoop on the Nailon signing, people are taking my posts on signing SJAX a little too literally. LOL

He's playing amazing ball, he has been averaging 26 a game since the all-star break I believe. 2nd half of the season is when he came on strong last year, shame he's not on a playoff contender anymore.

Should be next year though [IMG]

Jackson has put up some huge numbers lately. You wonder what kind of contract he and his agent will be looking for.
Jackson would be a solid addition for the Cavs but they key is if he is willing to take a reasonable contract (mid level exception should do) and like someone mentioned earlier, if he is willing to accept a role here. He can't expect to be one of the top options on offense but he can be a big part of a team with a bright future.

I would be happy if the Cavs are able to add him this offseason.

According to AllNet........His agent was the one who screwed the works in Salt Lake. Wonder if he still has the same one or if he fired him and got someone reasonable??

What's the good word on SJAX (future Cav) now?

Have there been any more discussions about this since this site's been down?
I love the idea of getting this guy but haven't heard a thing about this in a while. This guy is def a basketball player.

S-Jax would be a great 3rd option on offense. Z and James are your 1st two, but then you can kick it out to Jackson to do his thing. Boozer continues as the garbage man, as he needs no plays ran for him to be his double double self. McInnis becomes that important link man and another danger from downtown. Jackson if worth 5 million per year.

Bye Bye Eric Williams. Thanks for trying.

The bad thing for the Cavs is that Jackson is playing so well that he has to be opening up everybody elses' eyes around the league. It wouldn't surprise me if the Spurs went after him heavily.

His numbers can't be taken too literally though. The Hawks aren't playing any defense these days and their games have been getting into the 110s-120s quite a bit recently. He's had some ridiculous games since the all star break, but so has the myth, the legend, Bobby Sura.

In today's Plain Dealer, Stephen says how much he would like to play for Chicago, that they've got a nice young group of talented players, and that nobody knows him quite like Scott Skiles. He also said he likes John Paxson, and then reiterated how much he'd like to play for the Bulls.

I think it's pretty early for him to start courting possible teams, he's still playing for Atlanta!

When Stephen turned down that Spurs offer and ended up signing a much less contract with Atlanta, I thought he was an idiot, but apparently he was trying to prove people that he's worth much more than the Spurs offer, and so far he's been right and real. I think he's one of the guys who really ups their values this season (also Erick Dampier).

But let's not jump on the Stephen Jackson's bandwagon yet, folks. This source: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...marc&id=1774556 suggests the Cavs may also try to acquire veteran forward Jamal Mashburn from New Orleans in the summer. Apparently, Coach Silas still has a strong affection for Jamal. This means the Cavs can acquire only one of these top swing men: Jamal or Stephen. I prefer to go with Stephen because he's a great player who doesn't mind being a role player and can step up at the rightest moment to hit big clutch shots. On the other hand, Jamal needs to dominate the ball most of the time to be effective. I'd say Stephen would fit in the Cavs' offense much better than Jamal would.

I made a thread a month ago about the Mashburn rumor, and to tell you the truth, I would take Mash over Jax. Players that were took under Silas' wing tends to be better suited for the roster and would fit the Cavs style pretty well. I've also heard a Jamal Magloire rumor too. But never found a source.
