<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Gameday77:</div><div class="quote_post">but what's up with the center we got ruben boomshe boomshe lol what do u think of his addition he is a big 7 footer.</div> Cap filler.
wow, no more thugs to influence James (davis and miles) I think thats what they wanted, mclinns will fit nicely here. But didn't he get arrested for something too? i'll probably get crap for call davis and miles thugs, but oh well.
Miles was thought of as thug because of the of the way he banged his hands into his headband.Reports says Cavs got offended because they thought he was saying they were W****** Honest mistake I know
I would say it but you aren't allowed to use language like that on justbball Me posting the W at the start will give you a good idea what my joke is about If you read my post carefully. My 2nd hint You do it when you havn't had sex in a long time,or at all
Miller was going to want a max deal from the Cavs at the end of his last season here and the Cavs weren't going to give it to him. This was a good decision as Miller is a solid PG in this league, but he isn't worthy of a max deal. Instead of just letting Miler walk, they picked up Miles who at the time looked to possibly become a stud player in a couple years. Of course that didn't pan out, but hind sight is 20-20.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">Would have been more of a stretch last year to get him as we would have been a little better with Miller, Davis, Miles, Boozer, and Z. Better yes, but much better, still doubt it, who knows how the balls would have fallen.</div> Someone did the same exact error earlier in the Bulls forum, but if they had kept Miller they wouldn't have had Miles, so that lineup wouldn't work
Personally I like this idea, I agree with that the fact that he was probably impatient and couldn't handle the hype. He was quite a lazy player anyway, so much capable of more yet retaining a Stromile Swift, Derrick Coleman type of mentality. Good riddance, welcome McInnis!
good deal for Cavs .. Mccinnis will provid backcourt stability and another decent ball handler .. ! .. As for Ruben Boomjet Boomjet .. he's a less effective version of Diop !
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Phreeze:</div><div class="quote_post">Someone did the same exact error earlier in the Bulls forum, but if they had kept Miller they wouldn't have had Miles, so that lineup wouldn't work </div> oops, well I had a long day yesterday bro, not often do people bust me with a mistake, hell, that might be the first, ha. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Canada:</div><div class="quote_post">As for Ruben Boomjet Boomjet .. he's a less effective version of Diop !</div> I hope that is a not a knock on Diop because he is very young and the future of the franchise at center. The strides this kid has made this year compared to last are amazing.
Cavs deal Miles to Portland <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Darius Miles experiment is over. The Cavaliers hope their long search for a true starting point guard is, as well. The club traded Miles to the Portland Trail Blazers for guard Jeff McInnis and center Ruben Boumtje Boumtje Tuesday, essentially giving up on the young and inconsistent athlete for a more-experienced floor leader, as they plan to move LeBron James out of the point guard role. Miles, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2000 draft, came to the Cavaliers from the Los Angeles Clippers before last season in a deal for standout point guard Andre Miller. He never matured as the team had hoped, however, first being set back by knee problems and then struggling to find any sort of solid role in coach Paul Silas' system. Miles averaged 8.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 37 games this season and 9.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 107 games in Cleveland.</div> Full Story
So whats the anticipated starting 5 going to be? 5]Z/Diop/BoomBoom/Battie 4]Boozer/Battie 3]Williams/Brown/Newble/James 2]James/Wagner/Brown/Willams 1]McInnis/James/Ollie/Bremer
McInnis has had a good season so far, there is no reason he won't start within the next 3 games once he learns Paul Silas's system. McInnis is actually ranked 7th overall in assists per turnover(3.21).Which means he is a steady player, that will control the tempo of games.
It's hard to read the book on this trade Here are some articles from the Portland side of things... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Hey, they're running a respectable business here. It's clear that this trade is really about getting rid of McInnis, who was unhappy with his playing time in Portland, and adding Miles, unhappy with his playing time in Cleveland. But also, Boumtje Boumtje was viewed as a waste of space by some teammates. Instead of throwing basketballs at him during practice, maybe they should have talked with him. Who knows? Sometimes maturity rubs off. As it stands, the Blazers just got younger and more volatile. Miles, you might recall, was a no-show at practice Monday. He said he overslept. "I don't know if this makes us better or worse," coach Maurice Cheeks said. My sentiments exactly, coach. </div> Full Story <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Miles, 22, is a 6-foot-9, 210-pound small forward who has never averaged more than 9.5 points since being selected third in the 2000 draft. A long and wiry player, Miles' greatest asset is his athleticism, which produces acrobatic dunks and the ability to block shots. But he is widely considered an unfinished player who still struggles with his jump shot and his knowledge of the game, which has stunted what many envisioned would be a standout career. "It's not like he has failed. He just hasn't achieved the superstardom that a lot of people predicted for him immediately," general manager John Nash said. "But we think we've gotten ourselves a pretty good player." Even though the trade was made with an eye toward the future -- the Blazers could save $3.6 million in salary cap room next season and is handing the backup point guard duties to second-year player Qyntel Woods -- the Blazers' brass said it still expects to win now. </div> Full Story Looks like an even trade, maybe slightly better for the Cavaliers here. We know what we are getting with Jeff, who know what is in the future for Darius.
This trade is good for both teams. The Cavs undoubtedly got the better end of it as they rid themselves of an underachieving youngster and got a seasoned pro point in return. Lebron will probably now move to shooting guard and Mcinnis will play point. eric Williams will probably be 6th man.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr_Infante:</div><div class="quote_post">What makes them thugs? Cornrolls and a sweatband?</div> no, but he did imbrace a certain lifestyle. It was the fans and media that put these high expectations on him. Hasd a great rookie year, but get this, he was a role player. He came into the game and ran the floor, finishing plays. Then a few years later he gets traded here and people expect him to be a 20, 5, and 5 player? He has a career average of 9.3, sounds like a success to me, that would keep him in the league for a long time, till he can't play anymore.
