I do this in part for some things. Finances in one folder, gambling apps ( I blame Sly) in another folder, etc. but i still like most of mine open and visible.

    There are no three dots.
    There is no app drawer.

It is looking like I have to go back to store and hope to find halfway intelligent person there. Sigh. Thanks anyway.

If you can go to settings, then about phone, look for the specific model listed and the Android Version (mine is 13). That info could help people look up info about your phone. There is a lot of variance even within android itself.

I looked up model and googled. Got info on rearranging home screen but not icons. Crap.

It may not be perfectly secure, but iPhones are more secure than Androids.

Only because android allows more freedom to install 3rd party apps. There are routinely exploits that allow bad actors full control of your iPhone.

Don't trick yourself into thinking you're secure in your iPhone.

I'm not trying to convert you, by all means, use what you're comfortable with. But no phone is secure. You are carrying a tracking device in your pocket with cameras and microphones you can't shut off.

There are some phones that have tried to be more secure, offering hardware switches on GPS, antenna, microphone, and cameras, but none that have taken off.

Not to be an apple-fanboi, but it's funny that this thread about how a very simple task seems to be difficult to do with android is filled with apple-bashing.

This is not difficult to do with Android. This is a problem with a specific phone which has broken Android.

If it were an iPhone, it wouldn't have 'broken Android', as that not allowed. There are benefits as well as negatives to a closed ecosystem.

Good point, however, another manufacturer wouldn't be making an iPhone, since it's a closed ecosystem.

As such, there would be no iPhone available at that price point.

There are far more negatives than positives to closed ecosystems.

Me also, I don't think I'll need to upgrade for a long time. The camera is especially amazing. All the photos I shared in the Vacation thread were taken on my 6 pro and edited with Google photos filters.

    Dang.

Can you move an app to a different page? Do you have multiple pages on your phone?

Oh you are trying to alphabetize them on the pull down screen. I was thinking about pulling them up onto your regular screen so you can swipe to left/right and see them. I did that with my important apps and have them on the screens seperated by what kind of apps they are.

Interesting. I have the full list upon swipe up and the three dots. But, alphabetizing them isn't an option.

Edit: That's because my phone automatically alphabetizes them.
