All I see is the score (and us kicking ass). Keep it up Celtics! I'm pretty suprised too, the Raptors have a pretty nice looking summer league squad as well, I thought it would be a tight game. But who knows, there is still 1 half of basketball to be played. EDIT: 95-49 after 3!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SH*T! We are owning this game. DOUBLE EDIT: We won the game 111-62! Wow. I wonder what the box score looks like.. I'll post the link when it comes out. But damn, we just won by 53 points. Summer League or not, I'm impressed.
http://www.vegassummerleague.com/box_score.cfm?game=74LMAO what a game! Allan Ray lit them up for 18. Gerald had a big game as expected. Sebastian had a nice little line of 9 points, 10 assists. This was just complete domination from the start.
http://www.vegassummerleague.com/box_score.cfm?game=74 Celtics 111 Raptors 62 Gerald Green 23 points (8-12 FG, 6-7 FT), 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 turnovers Who called it :dribble: Way to go G-Money! Ryan Gomes 22 points (7-9 FG, 8-8 FT), 9 rebounds Sebastian Telfair 9 points (1-6 FG, 6-6 FT), 3 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, 2 turnovers SICK. 10 assists! Allan Ray 18 points (7-11 FG) Rajon Rondo 13 points (5-5 FG, 3-4 FT), 6 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover Very nice game from Rajon. Leon Powe 11 points (3-5 FG), 5 rebounds In only 16 minutes too. Al Jefferson 8 points (3-5 FG), 9 rebounds, 1 block Still nothing spectacular from Big Al. We shot 60% while Toronto shot only 31%. Also, Bargnani (if you are wondering) put up 10/2 on 2-7 shooting.. Joey Graham 20 points/7 boards. But nice game by the C's! I know it's only summer league, but this at least put a smile on my face when I read the box score. Awesome game by the Celtics! And I told you Gerald would bounce back. I'm glad Bassy showed his pure PG skills. It looked like he was doing nothing scoring the ball, so he dropped 10 dimes. I like it, and I bet Doc did as well. P.S. - For anyone who has NBA TV - this game will be aired Saturday night at 9:00 PM. <u>IF SOMEONE HAS NBA TV HERE CAN THEY PLLLLLEEEAAASSSSEEE RECORD IT AND POST IT AS A DOWNLOADABLE LINK FOR ME</u>!!!?!??!?!?!?!
I knew Bassy could be that type of PG..He wanted to show the critics he could thread the needle and get it to whoever he wanted to, and create shots for other guys.Green played well, its good to see him not take a shot at the confidence level, he came back very strong. And thats good to see out of a young guy like him.Rondo played an overral excellent game. Passed the ball, scored a bit, and played his usaul very good D. It'll be hard to keep him from going to the NBDL with showings like that.Ray...Can flat out shoot!Powe played very well for the limited time he got down there..

Celtics 108 Nuggets 112 Damn, too bad we lost the game, but GOD DAMN there were some exciting stats! Gerald Green 24 points, 3 rebounds... get this... 6/7 from 3-point land!! Incredible! Al Jefferson - FINALLY! 17 points (7-12 FG), 11 rebounds Sebastian Telfair 26 points, 3 assists RAJON RONDO! 11 points, 4 rebounds, 11 assists! I am so damn excited to see this kid! Ryan Gomes 18 points (5-11 FG, 8-8 FT), 4 rebounds Allan Ray 9 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists - very nice all around game. Gerald, Big Al, Bassy, Rondo, Gomes, Ray, and Powe were the only guys that played tonight. I can't believe Gerald stroke 6/7 from 3! Rondo continues to be exceptionally impressive, Bassy shows his scoring, and Big Al finally has a nice game! Gomes was Gomes. Even though we lost this game, the box score put a smile on my face and I am still excited on how some of these guys did.
i have to say, i'm tired of the inconsistency. I know it's only summer league, but come on, come to play two nights in a row.A new record! Telfair recorded 11 personal fouls! :no3:God, i love Rondo!!!
Peter Stringer's recap:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>LAS VEGAS ? If you like emotional basketball, this was the game you were waiting to see from the Summer League Celtics. They didn?t come away with the win, but they battled to the end and went down swinging in a 112-108 loss to the Denver Nuggets, a game that was more intense than your garden variety Summer League tilt. The Celtics trailed for most of the night, and while there were some positives to take away from the game, Boston?s struggles were mostly defending their own basket. With the Nuggets threatening to pull away in the final minutes, Sebastian Telfair (game-high 26 points) took over for the Celtics, leading a rally with 10 quick points by getting to the basket and the free throw line. When asked about it afterward, Telfair had a simple response: ?That?s what we needed.??I like that about him,? Coach Tony Brown said of Telfair. ?He saw that we needed to do something to try to turn the game, and his penetration, getting an opportunity to get to the free throw line, that?s what you have to do.?But the Celtics had to send the Nuggets to the line in the final minute because they just couldn?t get stops down the stretch.?They broke us down off the dribble, they put us in a scramble mode most of the night and that gave them the opportunity to make open shots,? said Brown, who was tossed with 3:22 to play after a technical was called on Telfair. ?I liked our effort, I just wish we?d played a little bit better on the defensive end.?The effort was certainly there tonight. Al Jefferson (17 points, 11 rebounds) was active on both ends of the floor, calling for the ball down the on the block, battling for boards underneath and even going to the floor for a loose ball on the baseline and then another one that went into the Nuggets? backcourt. And he had at least three blocks that were negated by questionable foul calls. The Celtics seemed to make a point of going to Jefferson in the early goings, and it paid off. Jefferson made some nice moves in the paint to get open, and his point guards made slick passes to get him the ball in position to score. It was an up-and-down affair early, but the C?s trailed 27-20 with 3:37 to play in the first quarter. After trading buckets with the Nuggets for the next few minutes, the Celtics closed to within three points at the end of the quarter with some nice inside scoring from Gomes (18) and Leon Powe, and then Gerald Green?s half-court heave off the glass tied it at 35-35.They trailed at the half, 55-50, as Casey Jacobsen and Ricky Sanchez were doing most of the scoring for Denver. And in the third, the Celtics looked to Green (24 points) for scoring, and he bounced back from a 1-for-7 first half by dropping 19 points in the third, draining five three pointers that helped put Boston up 81-80 after three quarters.</div>Wow, 19 points from Gerald in the 3rd!
Yeah I saw that. That's crazy! I'm still blown away about his going 6/7 from deep... then I see that 19 of his 24 were in the 3rd?! Sick.

I'm not really worried about wins/losses ina summer league, I just care that the players are improving as players! Telfair played a nice game, except he was being a LITTLE over agressive..haha 11 PF's..GG played well, he's shown he can hit the long range shot..Gomes had another solid game..My GOD RONDO!!! 11 ASSISTS, DOUBLE DOUBLE! He's a beast..I can't wait to see him play..
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (kingjamez @ Jul 13 2006, 02:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>AndCB4 thought he didnt have range!! hahaha</div> CB4 also said Rajon Rondo and Delonte West were similar players. LOL I don't take everything he says seriously... at all.
Alright guys, last summer league game is today! It's at 1:00 over in Vegas, which translates to 4:00 PM ET. We are playing the Pistons, if we lose to both the Nuggets and Pistons summer league teams in a row I will puke, I don't care if it's summer league. I want a win here, give these guys a little confidence booster finishing with a winning record. I would also like too see Dwayne Jones get more minutes today.
Updates from Gabe Kahn: - Starters were Rondo, Ray, Gerald, Powe, and Big Al - 49-34 Pistons at halftime - Telfair/Gomes aren't playing. They are there in street clothes.. just to give the other guys playing time. - Gerald had 13 points - Ray has 9 - Jones already has 6 fouls haha
that's pretty ridiculous that Detroit is winning by so much, regardless of Gomes and Telfair not playing.
CELTICS WIN 88-85!Leon Powe: He played decent; 8 points and 6 rebounds in 24 minutesGerald Green: 22 points, 3 steals. He was 2-3 from 3 point range..He's really put up some great consistent offensive numbers in the League.Al Jefferson: Big Al, did nothing in 11 minutes..3 points 4 boards..Rajon Rondo: He had one of the best overral games I've seen from a PG. 14 points, 8 assists, 7 boards, 4 steals. Allan Ray: He went off today with 26 points! He showed that he can score the basketball..I still wonder how this guy was never drafted!! Dwayne Jones: He had 5/5, and 8 personal fouls. He did OK, in only 21 minutes of play..
