His TS% may be up over last season, but it's still not very good. His FG% is horrible, and he's never been a very good 3-point shooter. Even though his cousin is 3-years older, if I had my choice I'd take Vince over TMac these days. Vince has a higher TS%, higher scoring average, higher PER, and most importantly, has had far fewer injury issues than McGrady.

Neither is the player they once were, but McGrady has been declining at a much faster rate.

I said at before the start of the season that Houston was fools gold due to their injury proneness when everyone was jumping on the bandwagon...espn.....i knew better and look they might not even make the playoffs.

VC is a bit old and he also has quit on his teams before.....

I think that NJ would want Outlaw with RLEC to get back Carter.

I say take Carter and run. If you can get Carter for RLEC and maybe a player and picks, do it. McGrady is probably done. Marion would probably bolt in the offseason. I think Carter is the option. It wouldn't be that big of a gamble.

McGrady can make his teammates better. Carter can score in bunches, but McGrady is and always has been more valuable.

Even with Carter, Nate won't let the team run.

I agree. RLEC + Outlaw + draft picks is very do-able. Carter would be a huge upgrade on our current small forward situation and when his time on the basketball court is up, Batum should be ready for primetime.

Carter's done, and would never have fit here if he wasn't. Stick a fork in him.

How is Carter done? Have you seen many games of him this season? He is far from done

This from the guy who readily admits he doesn't watch any other basketball except for Blazers games. Thanks for sharing.

If we are going to trade for Carter, he's probably going to replace Outlaw at SF, so throwing him in if NJ wants him is fine with me. I had two questions about this trade. First, how does he do at SF compared to SG? This site shows me that his offense is better at SF, but his defense is worse, by the way, Outlaw is better at PF on both offense and defense. Since both are worse at defense at SF than other positions and Carter is far better at offense at SF, I could live with the idea as long as the other question checks out and we don't have a better option. Second question, how long would he be in blocking Batum and Webster? Looking at Storyteller's site, his contract could look good and make him a possible consolation prize in the summer of 2010. Not bad, I was against it a while ago, but looking closer, I might be interested in him.

I suspect the person we obtain with RLEC will at once be a head-scratcher and an "of course!" moment.

I'm starting to think crazy--Carlos Boozer.

Sorry - started a new thread on Vince for Raef+Outlaw. Should have folded it into this one.
