I imagine IF we had interest at all in Frye, it'd be primarily taking on his contract and getting a future asset for doing so. Neil could be guessing on the price of Leonard, and feeling like he doesn't want to pay that price, so striking now to potentially get a 1st is attempting to carry that asset value over. I'm uncertain of details on that final year of his contract, I see it both ways. I don't think the deal(if there were one) is a ton about Frye the player. I think he'd get 15 minutes a night hitting 3s, and would likely lead to small increase in vonleh minutes.
I could honestly see that happening, then us buying out Frye and using this years cap space to cover the whole buyout.
I think we have the better of the two. I dont want both. Or we may as well go back and get the Lopez twins.
I'm sure picks could be involved to balance things out. If they gave us their pick in that deal, would you not be interested?
Boo. Davis is our most effective big. I'd rather keep him unless we're bringing in a starter. Frye would be an interesting addition and I might do it for Leonard straight up.
There isn't any scenario where Leonard with a few months until free agency is returning a first round pick.
That's a very interesting idea. My guess is you can not do it, though. Otherwise I think we would have seen philly do it previously.
If it were Meyers for Frye+Lottery Protected first? Sure. Frye is a good locker room guy, we would still have oodles of cap space this summer to throw around too.
Leonard for Monroe makes sense for both teams. The biggest flaw Milwaukee has is lack of spacing as all their forwards and their PG need to be in the paint to be effective. Meyers fits well with them as he can defend in the paint and space the floor on offense. On the flip side what we lack is a consistent 3rd scorer and in particular a guy who can score in the paint. If we had the trio of Lillard/MCollum/Monroe every night we have a much more balanced inside out game. We don't lose a ton on D either. If we could somehow get MCW as a rotation with CJ and Dame too that could be interesting, but the additional asking price Crabbe?
MIL has a lot of players that interest me. How do they not win? Sad that the sum of their parts don't work. I would also take Henson. He is who I think management wanted Leonard to be but it hasn't worked out that way.
Yes. 11 per I believe. However, and I know this is going to sound crazy, but he is worth it. He doesn't get as many minutes as he should on that team because they have a lot of bigs but his advanced stats are crazy good. Like top 5 defender, blocker, rebounder good. If you think Leonard can get 10-12 MIL a year this summer then what is wrong with Henson's contract?
The real question is, where does Henson fit here offensively? We can't play him at the 4 with Plumlee and Aminu with him as frontcourt buddies.
