I don’t mind Steven A. Smith at all. He is loud, but he speaks the truth a lot of times. He is annoying, but at the same time you know for the most part he is saying exactly what your thinking. Only thing that is bad about Smith is he thinks he is never wrong and refuses to admit to mistakes, he ends up rephrasing his original statement to make it sound better, Raptors fans know what I’m talking about (Villanueva). Barkley really does not have much factual basketball knowledge he can go deep sometimes, but for the most part he is comical relief at least to me.

^^Agreed 100%. Steven A. will let you know what your doing wrong to your face and not care if you offended or not, and I like that. Barkley usually just oppeses whatever Kenny Smith says.

Barkley is out spoken but at least he makes good points and doesnt always just do the same thing every time.

Stephen A. Smith just pretends to be always very angry about go knows what while acting as if he's more sure that the team hes picking will win the game than he would be that the sun will NOT crash into the Earth in the next 20 minutes. No sports personality on tv spends more time with his foot in his mouth than stephen a

Smith is a gimmick. I can handle disagreeing with someone's opinion, but I need some sort of reasoning/logic/intelligent argument. I find that he makes up for his utter lack of insightful discussion by: (1) yelling very loudly, (2) taking a commonly held view to the extreme, and (3) subsequently beating that point to death. I swear, it's like watching a spoiled 5-year old talk about the NBA.

I haven't watched Barkley enough, because we don't get TNT's halftime show. But, I have a hard time imagining that someone could be more annoying, while saying less, than Smith.

And no, I'm not a bitter Raptors fan.

Barkley comes off as a coon sometimes, he should talk in blackface. Stephen A. keeps it real, and always has the inside scoop.

S Smith doesn't know **** !. Everytime he says something, it's like "don't everyone know that already?" Its like, he's brought an article from SLAM magazine and read it loud. Can he at least modulate his voice...

It'll be interesting to see his pre-draft rant. The last two years he's been so off and it's blown up in his face (criticizing the Dwight Howard and Charlie Villanueva picks). I'm guessing Bargnani's going to be his focus of attack this year.

This draft has reminded me of another stupid habit of Smith's. He only picks on easy targets. Last year it was Rob Babcock, who was coming off a horrendous first year. This year it seems to be an unstable Portland franchise and the Golden State Warriors. I think he definitely disagreed with the Bargnani pick the most, but he didn't have the balls or knowledge to single out Colangelo. If Babcock had chosen Bargnani, he'd be all over him.

i cant believe people actually LIKE smith!? he's the most obnoxious analyst iv ever had the displeasure of watching. he really comes off as arrogant too...as if his opinion is the be-all-end-all for discussion on the subject

FYI to smith...you can get your point across without screaming it, and beating it to death...just thought you should know that

the funny thing about the draft coverage is that i felt that bilas and vitale were the cruelest of the bunch. bilas rips dude that he thinks went too high, and vitale does the same in regards to international players or early entry college players.

I've never been a crusader for the politically correct, but if I was in charge of this site youd probably have been banned for that post. just no need for it
