First, he says quite seriously "Greg Oden isn't a rookie!" Then, he's asked about what he thinks of Oden's game. He replied "how the hell should I know? He hasn't played". Gotta love Barkley.
Charles was my favorite player growing up, but he doesn't know shit about the game itself. I love watching him on TNT because he is so funny, but doesn't know anything about the actual game.
I partly agree, but his intuition is usually in the ballpark. His "live by the jumpshot, die by the jumpshot" comments were fairly prophetic describing the Blazers chances of making the playoffs, and he said this near the end of the 13 game win streak.
At the time, I was especially peeved by his, "The (early 90's) Blazers: They run like deer, jump like deer, and think like deer." In retrospect, I think it was pretty darned hilarious.
