If you're being serious and not sarcastic, I'm not sure if he's great at every part of coaching but he's fantastic at communicating and I really want to see what the ideas he's laid out as his plan would look like with a roster that even suits them a little. I think the criticism on his ability to adjust and his subbing patterns are unfair because his guys can't adjust and he doesn't have guys to sub in at 4 and 5 that should be getting any PT in the league.
If you are then we're both on team Chauncey but I'm not quite as enthusiastic but I'm hoping with change, I will be.
arguing the inarguable, seeing the unseeable, watching the unwatchable, and day-drinking after game night are what makes Blazer fans tick
He’s had a year of coaching experience before he became our head coach. Olshey just wanted a “ splashy” hire to act like he was cutting edge or innovative. Some of the best coaches in the league right now are guys that worked their way up. The guy in OKC, Jenkins in Memphis, even the dude in Utah who was given that job in the hopes of a complete rebuild. Coaches who have over achieved despite their rosters.
2 of those 3 guys have as much coaching playoff success as Billups so it might be a bit premature to call them "some of the beset coaches in the league."
I think the pollyanna stuff is a bit or something. nobody attributes blowing a 25pt lead to an opponent "making a run". It is a bit being put on.
Chauncey is coaching to a system, not to a roster. This will only work if the organization is willing to work on fixing the roster. Terry coached to a roster because the organization (NeO) was not willing to work on fixing the roster.
I'm all in...Chauncey is getting results and that's after a pretty major roster overhaul with a lot of youth.
Playing Camara ahead of players drafted higher then him means the coach is not afraid to do the right thing. and.... I have a much higher view of Billups than I do of the Bucks coach...
I turned to my wife last night during the game and said...."I can't remember the Blazers playing this hard of defense. It's been a long time". Blazers didn't win that game by out shooting the opponent from the arc. They got the win the old fashioned way...out gritting the other team till the clock read 00:00.
Gotta have that paaaaaitence. Until the next 2 game losing streak, where the same people will want Chauncey fired, completely ignoring the fact we are going to suck all year no matter the coach we have lol
