"We want to turn those good shots into great shots. And you can only do that with ball movement, without selfishness."
    C.Billups.

    That's good for me.

I guess we view this differently. I don't see anything here that should be brought up against Billups 24 years later. No charges or clear accusations are against solely Billups.

OJ fled police, was arrested, charged and tried for a crime.

    How is Billups situation comparable?

We just hired someone with a serious rape allegation against them. Yes he was never charged, but the optics and info about the case are real.

saying fans are “going crazy” is unfair, IMO. It’s a serious deal and everyone has a right to react in their own way

There was no accusations against solely Billups. It was at a party against a group of people with the alleged victim blacked out. The alleged victim received a financial gain. It's an isolated incident.

People can react however they want. I find the Blazers and Billups conduct 100% reasonable.

I totaly agree, but Billups was also hired by the Clippers and ESPN and probably had several other Jobs and we don't know what happened on that night, even Jody has a questionable past. I'm curious why these people don't have the same energy towards her?

We just had a president who has been accused of sexual misconduct at least 26 times and nearly half the country worship him, I think one allegation from 22 years ago, I which Billups wasn’t charged shouldn’t hold him back.

Wouldn’t surprise me a bit if Billups wants a shot with CJ and Lillard.

That's different, the President was white and all those women were ugly. Duh.

Wouldn't surprise me either. It is wishful thinking. Neil may very well think this is the 'major' change that "it wasn't the roster" needed.

Great, and that’s your prerogative. Just like it is other people prerogative to think his story smells like complete bullshit

I think the point was that no one was found guilty of their murders, yet someone clearly did it.

I don't think for 100% certainty, we can say he raped her. Something happened, and only a handful of people know for certain.

It could have been consensual and things got weird.

It could have been that she blacked out and they sexually assaulted her.

It could be that they had a sexual liaison, and it escalated into an assault.

It could have been that she was consenting to the sex, they all had been drinking/doing illicit drugs, she passed out/blacked out and doesn't remember it happening and when she woke up/sobered up, regretted that it happened.

The issue is, the rape kit that was administered indicated rape was likely (I believe). I'm not sure how rape can appeared to have happened, if it didn't (I'm not an expert, I mean).

My guess is with most didn’t or still don’t know about the harassment allegations. Also, it’s much easier to say nay to an employee than an owner. Again though, that’s just a guess

Not saying Billups is just like OJ Simpson. Just pointing out the absurdity of saying nothing happened because no one was convicted.

No, it shouldn’t, but remember the other half of the country didn’t worship him. And WAY over half of the damn Portland area didn’t

That word "solely" is an odd word to include. Like if he were part of a gang rape it's not as big a deal.

Anyway, I absolutely loved those Billups Pistons teams.

And aside from this allegation I like his overall story. Third overall pick, bounced to five teams before finding his home in Detroit. He was a journeyman, a top draft pick, a young flameout, a hard nosed defensive role player, a star on a championship team, a guy who beat Shaq's Lakers, a vet who lingered in the league all the way to the age of 37.

He's kind of done it all and has something in his life experience he can relate to practically every guy on our team. It's a player's league, so having a coach who understands and can communicate with his players is critical.

I hate experimenting with an unproven head coach, but if you are going to roll the dice he's a pretty good gamble.

I think this is exactly how Olshey would justify the dog & pony show in his mind as well.

I propped up a woman to be closer to being the first head coach and I continued to make my agent happy...
