Yes, he is absolutely gone. 100% without a doubt.

The Bulls told him he was gone over a week ago. The only question is by amnesty or trade, but he's just as gone as Gasol is here.

Hint: Yes. Served his purpose. Now costs far more than he is worth and one of the most highly regarded coaches in the league apparently lost faith in him.

If he cost too much as a roster player, he costs even more as a player on the Pacers or Heat or wherever he ends up.

Back to the original point of the thread......

I like McCalebb and Goudelock. For the scoring guard there's no reason to get picky about their all around game. We need a Pargo/BG-lite type.

Nate would actually be perfect if he were still around.

Not sure if the Bulls are targeting anyone in particular right now, or are looking to wait until someone pops up on waivers or via trade.

I don't understand what that is supposed to mean? How can he cost more as a player on another team? He costs us $0.00 after we amnesty him.

He doesn't count against our cap space, so as far as we are concerned he was a free agent we didn't resign and now he can sign with whatever team he wants. There is absolutely no difference in him and any free agent whose contract expired, because as far as the salary cap is concerned, that's what he was. A free agent whose contract with the Bulls expired, so he's no longer a Bull.

He doesn't cost the Bulls a penny, at least as far as fans are concerned. As far as building our roster is concerned, he's gone and completely forgotten.

I apologize for not understanding your comment, but what do you mean "he costs even more as a Pacer or Heat or Wiz or Cav or Mav or Laker or Adelaide 36er"? Doesn't cost us a penny more.

    Boy I did too!!!

I like Marion if he would sign for very little, and either brooks or bayless, then call it a day.

I was interested in Baron, but I doubt the Bulls sign him.

Perhaps I can be of assistance. I speak Denny.

if he costs too much on our roster he will cost more somewhere else...

Rough translation: we should keep Carlos because if he signs with another team, especially a good Eastern Conference team, it will be like he downed a can of spinich or an Underdog Super Energy Pill, he will exact great vengeance upon us and we will rue the day.

See what he did there? "Cost" and "cost?"

He doesn't count against cap space, but the Chairman is still writing him checks.

The argument is if he's overpriced as a player for us, he's really overpriced as a player not playing for us.

If you think $16M for 14/8 in ~24 minutes is overpaying, then $16M for 0/0 in 0 minutes is really overpaying.

Well said. It's a lesson in how not to be profitable.

    http://www.csnchicago.com/bulls/mum-gasol-bulls-thibodeau-addresses-nba-free-agency

As far as free agency in general, Thibodeau’s answer was telling when he was asked about the Bulls’ summer thus far.

“Again, you start with the guys that you do have. Hopefully, we’ll continue to add pieces. The perimeter is something we want to address, and we’ll see what we can do,” he said. “As I said, there’s still a long way to go. Until we’re finished, we’ll see where we are.”

I also think Jimmer would be a good option if he wants to come back.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's looking for places where he'd get more playing time.

I was just thinking about Jimmer. Is there a team that might put him in their rotation? I'm not sure there is. Europe calls.

He'd really be the ideal guy. He's a lights out shooter and he knows our system. I'm not seeing anyone out there who's obviously better.

If Rose went down I think you could platoon him with Kirk pretty effectively, and he's the perfect guy to bring off the bench for an offensive spark.

I have no idea what his market is right now, but it might be worthwhile for him to come here for a 1 year deal to see how it works out for him.

I agree with everything you said.

However, if Jimmer signed here, he might be the one member of the Bulls' organization pulling for Rose to fall down and not get up.

But again, I don't care if Reinsdorf gives him $1 billion, as long as it doesn't count against our salary cap and it doesn't effect our ability to get other players. And it doesn't. So why the hell should I care about it?

I'm not a minority Bulls owner, and I'm not a Reinsdorf heir. It doesn't effect my life in any way whatsoever.

I think I understand... Boozer has sucked as a Bull because Thibs has been holding him back, and because he hasn't been able to concentrate on playing ball because he spends all his time thinking about how much GarPax and Reinsdorf suck.

And as soon as he signs elsewhere he's going to turn into an unstoppable 30/15 machine and single-handedly keep the Bulls from ever winning another championship. Because he's going to play at that level until he's 83. And because Reinsdorf is so cheap that since he's paying Boozer, he will refuse to pay the veteran's minimum to fill the 15th roster spot with that player who was going to be Boozer's kryptonite and is the only chance we have to make the playoffs.

I got it. Thanks a million TB#1!! (Or should I say "thanks 16.8 million"??)
