The Bulls didn't trade away their ability to fold like a cheap suit in the fourth quarter.

As of right now, no Bull has played more than 30 minutes.

And since Hinrich has gone out, no Bull will.

^^^ I just mentioned that to my wife. Bulls can't play 10 guys 24 minutes each.

This game seems to confirm what I suspected - the Bulls need a static 8 man rotation badly. Hinrich, Deng, Gordon, Gooden, Tyrus, Noah, all need a consistent 30 minutes a game.

Players are more productive when they have defined roles, when they play in a long enough stretch to feel comfortable on the court, when they know how long they are going to play.

Unless you set up two separate teams, like Memphis did a few years ago, a balanced 10 man rotation just doesn't work.

One of Hughes, Thabo, or Noc needs to sit down. Since Thabo has the smallest salary and is a 2nd year player it will probably be him. Though I'd much prefer it be Nocioni or Hughes.

    Gooden 32
    Noah 32
    Tyrus 32
    Deng 32
    Noc 16
    Hinrich 32
    Gordon 32
    Hughes 32

No Gray. No Duhon. No Thabo.

9 man rotation isn't a bad thing, either. Hughes is going to be a starter and play big minutes before long, mark my words. He's tall, plays the best D of all our guards, and can score - a two way player we've badly needed.

For once, Pax made a great trade - we got TWO starters off last year's ECF champs. It's hard to see them not playing a ton of minutes for us if we want to win ballgames.

Sure, but the 8th and 9th men should only be getting 5 or 10 minutes a game.

Hughes looked good, but they had a saying about him in Cleveland - "All roads lead to 40%." I'd be shocked if he suddenly became a good jump shooter.

I like him as a backup PG though, or perhaps as a starter alongside Kirk. Sucks that Thabo has to lose his job, though.

Hughes isn't a spot up shooter, which is why he sucked in Cleveland %-wise.

He's a scorer, a different beast altogether. We saw him do his thing on at least one play, where he took his man off the dribble and made the bucket. Not the same as catching the ball off a curl/screen and shooting or getting an open 3-pt look on a drive/kick.
