There would be plenty of options. Michael Sweetney, draft pick number 16, or someone we would sign via free agency. The problem I have with this trade is it means we have to keep either Deng or Nocioni on the bench which will really hurt their development. I think if this trade goes down Deng will be leaving shortly after.

    Why Deng leaving?

Isnt there a chance Nocioni is going back home when his contract expires?

I would jump on that trade right away. You get rid of Chandler's contract and get a 20/10 player in Marion.

    PG - Hinrich
    SG - Gordon
    SF - Deng
    PF - Marion
    C - ?? (Sweetney, #16 pick)

I don’t know if he would be traded right away, but there will come the time soon when we will have to make the choice on which young players we are going to keep, and with Nocioni and Marion on the roster. Deng becomes the most likely to be let go. There have been rumors Nocioni would go back overseas when his contract expired, but they have never been confirmed by Nocioni himself, nor the organization so there’s no telling how much truth there is to those rumors. Especially if Nocioni continues to improve he could be in for a big payday when his deal expires.

Hilton Armstrong, Simmons, Sene, Paul Davis, etc. Sene would be a bad pick only because he will take time to develop, and if that trade went down we would require a lot from him right away.

Its an interesting idea, but that has to be the smallest lineup in the league.

    PF: Marion - 6'7
    C: Sweetney - 6'8

who's going to block shots? lol

Trade for Marion, and sign Ben Wallace through free agency. Instant contenders...

Marion also averages over 1 block per game. 1.69 last season.

i would not do this deal. if it was our #2 and #16 for Marion i would. but we do not have anyone over 6'10 on our roster but Tyson. i say no to this deal unless it #2 and #16 for Shawn Marion.

    Starters

    PG-Kirk Hinrich 6'3
SG/SF-Luol Deng 6'9 (he can play SG for 13 or so and then be a SF)
    SF-Shawn Marion 6'7 (vet)
    PF-Tyson Chandler 7'1
    C-Nene 6'11

    Bench

    SG-Ben Gordon 6'3
PF-Andres Nocioni 6'7 (moved him to PF his best position)
    PG-Chris Duhon 6'1
    PF-Darius Songaila 6'9
    PF/C-Antonio Davis 6'9 (vet)
    PF-Malik Allen 6'10
    and MORE VETERANS

to me we r young enough we do not need anymore rookies unless its from the 2007 draft [IMG]

I still have faith in Tyson Chandler.

^ We can't trade the 16th pick. Also this Tyson/#2 is a massacre for the Suns, I'm sure that's not all we'd have to give up.

Also, you say you want Nene? He's been injured his entire career, I would stay way away from him. If this trade did ever go down I'd take someone like Hilton Armstrong in the draft, and try to sign a veteran C. If we got Wallace that would be insane. Marion, Deng, and Nocioni can't coexist. Somebody's got to go.

I'd rather hold on to #2. Draft Aldridge, and go for Ben Wallace and/or other big men in free agency. We need to stay away from Tyrus. It won't be the end of the world if we get him, but Aldridge is a wayyy better fit. If Aldridge is taken, I'd take Bargnani, but that's just my opinion, some say he has too many questions, which is a valid worry, but his potential and the way he's play in Europe sounds like he might be a good fit. Morrison and Gay aren't bad, but it would be reaching a bit, so unless we trade down a little bit don't expect either of them to be in a Bulls jersey.

Bottom line is, It's gonna be one of these three: Bargnani, Aldridge, Thomas

BTW, I want to go on the record and say that I want Jermaine O'Neal. (If we can get him in the right deal)

I agree it depends who we give up though. I think we would be better served going after O?Neal than Garnett. O?Neal?s price will be far lower, and he is also younger than Garnett. When healthy O?Neal has shown he is a guy you can build your franchise around he has been in the MVP race a couple years as well. I think the duo of Gordon and O?Neal could be one of the most feared in the league. With Nocioni locking up people on the defensive side, and Hinrich controlling the ball I think we can have an even better team than Indiana had before the Brawl at the Palace and before everything fell apart.

BTW: ED! back posting again![IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

We can't go 2 consecutive years without our own draft pick.

IMO this deal hurts both teams. If we get Marion, we are giving up are starting center and potentially Lamarcus Aldridge. We would have the smallest frontcourt in the league with Sweetney and Marion. The Bulls talk about acquiring a go to veteran. Marion may be a veteran, but despite the amount of points he averages they mostly come on open 3's and fast breaks.

On the Suns side, why would they want Tyson Chandler? He's overpaid, has no offensive, game and commits way to many fouls. He has potential, but the Sun's shouldn't be looking for players to develop. Nash and Marion are aging and there best chance for a title will be in the next couple of years.

^ Tyson in Phoenix would actually be great, with Tyson's athleticism and length, Steve Nash would have a field day.

But yeah, we'd be pretty small. If we could sign Wallace and draft Saer Sene, I'd be fine with it, But I still doubt PHX will do that trade.

Watch Saer Sene here, dude's a beast.

Sene is a project though. He is still very raw offensively, and a little too aggressive defensively. He will be one of those players who gets into foul trouble quickly during his rookie season, but at the same time he will also throw down some thunderous dunks. Like Ed said though if this trade went down we could very well sign Ben Wallace, or some other free agents to play center. It’s not like this free agent market lacks servicable big men Pryzbella, Nazr, Wallace, etc.
