Thanks...Like I said, new here and still learning who is whom and what they post like. Some people joke and some get so personal you'd think someone stole their sippy cup. All in good fun. Believe me, I laughed every time I saw BF take Ben G to task. :ghoti:

just a small aside to the original post. Sterile inflammation, such as we are discussing, does not fully go away in a week as the OP stated. At least the systemic affects of sterile inflammation may last much longer in some people, in certain cases even years of low level increases of mapk kinase production for example, although in most people the levels do drop off precipitously, and increased macrophage production also tends to revert to pre-insult conditions withing the week.

    OK, back to topic

Maybe I have a greater understanding. Maybe I don't, and it's just common sense. And, maybe it's not common sense, or more people would agree with my OP on the matter of fatigue in 4 game in 5 night situations. I don't know that it makes my opinion more relevant, but certainly I am more confident that I can support my opinion having had experience.

Context is everything. If I am critical of Portland, you aren't going to think I'm trolling to get a rise out of Blazer fans. But, you would of some other individual who do nothing but suggest trade after trade, and offer negative take after negative take about it, especially and often exclusively after a Blazer loss. You are correct that the perception of a negative take does not, in itself, constitute trolling. But when it's dead quiet until the Blazers lose a game (the 4th game in 5 nights) and there is a giant influx of complaining from habitual offenders, that's context we can't ignore when considering the merits of these individuals' opinions.

If the Blazers had issues during a loss, I can assure you that, other than fatigue, those problems existed during wins. Where was the complaining then? Context matters. I'm am cognizant and make a consorted effort to separate individual opinion between those who seek to get a rise out of Blazer fans, those who's opinion lack "common sense", and those who simply have a different perspective. And, sometimes, I make mistakes. You can tell a lot by one's reactions. You would agree that a troll would have responded to me very differently than you did ya?

IKR? lol It's ok. He's nice, so I don't mind explaining myself to nice people, even when it is so much easier to poke fun.

Very well stated. I imagine we would have a great discussion at one of the various Blazers gatherings.

DOMS - and the soreness and pain associated with DOMS (which could very well explain the sluggish 1st half, and why the 2nd half was much improved) does subside after a week. Inflammation is caused by many factors, is unique to the individual, and is not a guaranteed symptom of DOMS. I was speaking in general terms, and specifically about DOMS and it's effects, not specifically about inflammation that could be the result of many other factors. But, it's good food for the brain.

I'm not even upset about our starters having a ho-hum evening. Dame was on fire, Aldridge would have had a great game if it wasn't for Love's near trip dub, and Batum had a decent outing. Wes was off, and Lopez definitely struggled last night. It was the bench.

The starters had kept us pretty close until Mo came in and then it was just..... wow..... it was like a torpedo had just blown a hole in the side of the SS Trail Blazer and we were taking on massive amounts of water. We got the hole patched, but by that time we had taken on so much water that the ship could not be saved. That didn't stop First Mate Lillard from trying desperately to pump water out of the compartments below deck, but with Seaman Williams letting water into other parts of the ship, there simply wasn't enough time to save her. The water washed over the rails and the SS Trail Blazer was swallowed up by the sea.

Seaman Williams in his current form is a threat to the nautical worthiness of the S.S Blazer.

I understand this, but I have worked on inflammation for a few years so I figured I would correct a tiny flaw in your statement. Although for all practical purposes you are correct. If you wait tables for a living a someone refers to a glass of wine as being 6oz, you might correct them and say it's 5oz(red), but that doesn't really matter either.

If you have medical experience, then you should know that "disappears up to 7 days" is not a definitive statement for ALL cases. It is always dependent on the individual circumstances. ;)

No medical experience. I work in a microbiology lab at OHSU as a lab tech.

Anyway, forget my whole line of posts, there was really no reason for me to even bring it up. I just happened to be finishing up an experiment about exactly this right before I read you post and so responded in an overly tangential way.

Love that clip in your sig!
