We won't know if that trade was dumb for a couple years. Bayless isn't exactly setting the world on fire. He's a 15 minute a night guy on an awful team.
Can you read, he wants to keep LMA-Nic-Matthews as a core and add pieces. That's not a blow up it is a rebuild and he said wins are important, but it won't happen in one yr and we need to move Miler-Camby-Przy for decent pieces if we can.
The difference of course is that this team has a 2-way good all-star level talent with room for growth in Aldridge (which the Nash era Blazers did not have, they had the offensive talent in Zach, but not the defensive talent) - the team also has 2 young wing defenders with some offense in Wes and Batum (either one is better than Webster which was the big hope of the Nash era) - and in addition it could potentially have a good to very good player in Roy (who knows) and a good to fantastic center in Oden (who knows) in addition to expiring and some other young, cheap assets to move around. This had to happen, honestly. The injury to Roy might have killed the Blazers greatness potential - but it might have actually enhanced them if he can come back and be a good player again - because we and LMA now know that he (LMA) can be a legit #1 option. At this point, Miller is not an asset to keep around, he should have been the final piece to a cake that is no longer around, Camby is great, but again, short term. Joel I will miss a lot - but this team has to look to the next year or later. As long as the core of LMA,Wes/Nic remains and remains healthy - this team will not become the Wolves.
Teague? guy has done Nada and Atlanta is PG starved - that makes no sense. Much rather try for Maynor from OKC
enlighten me, I honestly have not seen him but his numbers look weak and ATL would seem to crave a young PG if they showed anything? what am I missing
About as explosive an athlete at the point position. Like, Rose and Westbrook type athletic. Probably needs to work on his playmaking abilities big time. But, I'd take a gamble on him for sure.
I'd think that Joel is the logical guy to go, maybe with another bit player. I'd be surprised if Cho looks for a project-type PG, though. He says in the article that a starting-quality PG would cost one of the core and he's not going to do that. I'd think he'd look for a PF that can score to play along side of Aldridge.
You gave up an 11th pick for nothing of value this season, and you left your team without a viable back-up PG. That's worth firing someone over if I'm running a real business, and not NBA Playland, where the future of a franchise can change course solely on the whims of an owner who views this as a hobby.
He saved the Blazers $4.6 million in salary and luxury tax payments this year, got a first round pick and a traded player exception. I think that he's probably got a bit of rope to work with yet.
Uh, huh. Because players who are undrafted and the 25th pick are often centerpieces of a rebuilding project. Where were Durant and Westbrook chosen again?
Of all the writers online, Berger is probably the least reliable. He throws so much shit on the wall and hopes that something will stick. I would take his word with a grain of salt, moreso than past shit stirrers like Sam Smith and Peter Vescey.
After years of watching/hearing KP talk, Cho is sort of a joke. KP had most of us eating out of his hands. I guess it should have been expected that Cho (a generally quiet dude, without KP's knack for speaking) would look bad.
