    My brother's front windshield leaked badly and it left a sour taste in my mouth.

    The S60 (and most modern Volvos) are really great looking cars.

    The Legacy and other Subarus are very nice and have a better AWD system than the Volvo - but I certainly had issues with 2 of the 4 Subarus we had - the certainly are not easy on CV joints and head gaskets...

    I had problems with my '69 Volvo's U-joints and distributor. Had problems with faulty wiring on my '69 and '83 Volvos. Had no problems on both the 2005 Volvos.
    The only thing I didn't like about Volvo was that they got bought out by Ford and are now owned by a Chinese company.
    I drove away from the rear end accident on the freeway as well as a few others that no doubt would have made other cars undriveable. The three point seat belt, the engine that slides under the front seat occupants in a head on and the steel reinforcement in the doors protecting from side accidents are all Volvo patents.

    We had a beatiful volvo suv at work recently that I wanted. So nice.

    We also had a new Jaguar sedan that had a leather interior that smelled like rotten dairy cow. Soooo gross.

    Looks like every other midsize SUV. Car manufacturers have little creativity anymore as all the midsize sedans look very similar as well as many of the mid size SUV's.

    My daughter bought a new to her 2008 Nissan Rogue which looks very similar but hers is silver.

    The new Volvos have so many desirable features that it's like a powerful magnet drawing me closer and closer.
    Hybrid electric/internal combustion;
    parallel park assist;
    lane departure warning;
    rear cameral;
    a radar or sonar, not sure which, feature that prevents the car from running into a pedestrian or warns you when you approach another vehicle to rapidly;
    blind side warning;
    all wheel drive;
    a feature that allows you to both open your garage door or unlock your front door or turn the porch light on;
    electric front seats for passenger and driver;
    heated seats;
    cup holder, wowie;
    I think they now offer a more durable paint option;
    LED lights all around.
    I'm sure there are other features I'm not aware of.

    You could just get an old Rogue apparently. Damn that Volvo for not making a 5 door SUV in a completely different shape than other automakers.

    Second time in a few weeks I've clicked "show ignored content" and been blown away by what I'm missing. Here are some more pictures of a ten year old Rogue for you to compare. 2018_volvo_xc60_4.jpg d0bf44ab3707530dd1c48ebb94fd2f44x.jpg

    Volvo has a nice looking wagon going on sale soon that looks pretty awesome. One of these two cars is the Volvo, see if you can pick it out 46820735.jpg maxresdefault.jpg

    I don't like station wagons or SUVs because they don't have a trunk where I can properly hide stuff from thieves.
    Edit: Also, they are less aerodynamic.

    The station wagon tail lights really needed improving and they did that. I still wish they could look better but they are a lot better than they used to be.

    My '83 with the 400,000 miles got totaled. I gave it to my cousin's son, my second cousin, and he fixed it up and it's still running today. Never got a thank you out of it even though I had to pay for a salvage title and lost the scrap metal $50 bucks or so. He should have at least said thanks.

    Here is a new Volvo and what some people think the automakers should do to stand out from the crowd. I'll take the Volvo 2019-volvo-s60-inscription-t6-awd-19-0618.jpg.jpeg the-homer_100310250_s.jpg

    LOL, reminds me of that Chevy Chase movie, Vacation.
    Yeah, the new Volvos look better and better. Damn, those Viking Swedes make great cars.
    A buddy of mine who worked with me at Tektronix, the guy that bought the 280Z and before that it's predecessor, worked on large chip testing machines. So, someone in Sweden bought one and Tek sent him over there to teach them how to use it. While there he learned, now this back in the early 80s, that they had a law that said any Swedish car must withstand a horizontal drop from ten feet and drive away. Saab also had to follow this law.

    I like Saabs also except they are a bit more sporty than a Volvo and my sporty days are behind me.

    My 69 cutlass hardtop wouldn't be able to survive an 18 inch drop on the roof. Remember reading how that GM fought the rollover rules tooth and nail.

    My parents had a Cutlass of about that age. One night while driving back to SW Portland from their beach house in Gearhart while going downhill on that long straight stretch West of Banks, I got their, my parents', Cutlass up to 130 MPH. Would I ever do that again? Are you kidding? I'm not as stupid as I once was.

    In fact, I'd have to say that if it weren't for a multitude of fortuitous occurrences, I would be pushing up daisies now. God, kids are dumb.

    No, as I recall they made circuit boards there.
    I worked first at the headquarters location off Jenkins rd. in buildings 47 and 49 and in bldg. 19 and then at the Walker rd. facility in bldg. 94?, 90 something.
