Chris Broussard says we are offering LO about 24-25 million, 3 years.

That link says "David Lee: The Knicks power forward is expected to land in either Oklahoma City or Portland now. The Thunder are looking at Lee or Millsap, if the price tag isn’t driven too high. Portland may opt to bring Lee in, and slide Greg Oden to the bench permanently."

It loses all credibility as soon as you see that

I really can't imagine Lamar bolting anywhere. He's in a perfect situation here and from the sounds of it, loves it here too. I also can't imagine that, at 30 and being as inconsistent as he is, that he's going to get much better then an $8mil per year, and if someone does, that team will be overpaying.

If Portland throws him a deal of like 4 years, $40 million, I could see him bolting. But only if he gets $10 mill from them.

If LO doesn't come back then we're screwed, because we already used our MLE.

Celtics just signed Rasheed and are probably getting Grant Hill. I think those only increase our chances of retaining LO because Jerry isn't dumb. When Drew misses his annual 20+ games next year, or gets 3 fouls in the first 2 minutes of the game, we're gonna have to use JP on KG/Sheed. Pencil us in as screwed. Jerry wants championships so time to spend some dough!

Maybe if he was guaranteed a starting spot, but I'm not sure Portland starts or uses Lamar as much at the 3. Let's just match the offer already though. :[

That's another thing with LO going to Portland. What kind of minutes would he even get? They have a lot of young guys that play at the 3 - Fernandez, Batum, Outlaw, etc. - so I doubt he'd play there very much, and we know he wouldn't starting at the 4 with Aldridge there and eating up most of those minutes. I think if he wants the most playing time he can get, he'd stay here, because he's going to be getting around 30mpg again this year between playing the 3 and 4, and maybe sometimes the 5.

I think they'd have to ship Outlaw out if they sign Odom for over $10M. I'm sure the Blazers could find him 20 to 30 MPG.

Yeah but he could get the same time here, at a more ideal position. Plus Rudy wants to be moved if he doesn't get enough/more time soon.

Heard on the radio that POR no longer had interest in Odom

    Sweet!

There aren't many suitors out there for Odom. I think a lot of teams are afraid to commit the years he wants because of how inconsistent he is.

With Portland bowing out, I don't see any team throwing money at him now.

Seeing as how Kobe wants him back, I imagine Dr. Buss will find a way to get him back. He and Kupchak don't need to piss off Kobe again, nor do I think they want to.

    They can piss off Kobe.

He is still locked down for 2 years, right?

I hate how Kobe is looked at like some God, sometimes. Pissing him off means nothing. Let him go out there and tank games, ruin his image that he has worked his ass off to repair.

I don't think pissing off Kobe is that big of an issue. Kobe already ranted to the media once, and what does he have to show for it? A championship. Obviously Kobe wants LO back, and I'm sure the entire organization does too. We'll see what happens, but as of now, seems like it's gonna be a waiting game.

I actually think it'll be handled by the end of the week.

Odom isn't going to get the contract he wants.

Memphis isn't going to offer him shit. Rudy Gay's future is much brighter than Odom's. Oklahoma City has Durant...who is already better than Odom in some regards and will probably be better than him by the end of next year.

    Just sign the contract, Candyman.

Much like Ariza, at the start of the off-season, I thought it was a sure-thing that Odom would re-sign. I was wrong with Ariza, but with Odom, I think it's a sure thing since Portland backed out already and as what was said in previous posts, the only other teams capable of giving him big money already have better players at his position. So, Odom, sign the contract!

Yeah since we didn't overpay for our other role players, we should have plenty left for LO.
