Oh well, if an anonymous poster said something several times it must be true.

Because, you know, other sports owners don't have egos...

Other sports owners are SMART enough to hire a GM and let these "basketball minds" do their fucking jobs! PA knows shit about hoops, but thinks he does, and that's why the BLazers haven't won a championship since the 70's! If you need more proof, mix this in, outside of the Nets owner, PA was the wealthiest owner in the NBA for decades and with all that money no one wants this job. Why? He fired KP and Cho within a year of each other and the NBA execs took notice. The place is about as GM friendly as the Gaza strip on a religious holiday.

Was he the guy who had his phone keep cutting out on him?

    Nevermind

Quick thought - would Canales be on ESPN radio if he was about to lose his job? The PR department would authorize this interview.

I didn't hear any cutting out, but I'm watching on ESPNews, so I could be wrong. Nothing really insightful, although I was only half watching.

So the PR dept is parading Kaleb out to the National media? That sure seems like a coach that will be back

or....giving him a chance to get his name out there since no coach we hire (especially an asst.coach like Shaw or Malone) is going to want the previous coach sitting next to him on the bench, ready to go at the sniff of the first 5-game losing streak.

That would be nice, but it seems less than likely. That said, if a new coach is hired, I'll be the first to give you credit for that theory.

PA knows more about hoops than 95% of the geeks on this message board.

Well, if he's been the voice of the past few drafts I'd say Fez Hammersticks is vastly more knowledgeable when it comes to College/FIBA prospects than Mr. Allen.

It has to be true, but it's hard to believe with some of the moves he has been talked into or demanded.

    HCP-

If you want to wear rose colored glasses every day fine. I hear they're always on sale in bulk in June when the final rounds of the playoffs are happening!

This team is not a place that attracts top level talent, coaches and now GM's! Why? PA is an unstable force and the league knows it. This is a billionaire owner that didn't even give season ticket holders playoff Tshirts when he's had sell out crowds for 20+ years.... He's got the draft right around the corner with no GM or coach in place and all of this is supposed to instill confidence in being a blazer? HAHA!

We'll lose Batum this year and "if" LA could opt out ,he'd be gone in a New York minute. It will take this team 5 years with "proper" management to compete for a title at the least. IF PA doesn't make some masterful moves, the next to go will be the fanbase. Good luck selling Felton, Wes, Pryz, Elliot and LA as your featured team.

This team hasn't made it out of the first round of the playoffs since 2000 and that's when we had some talent which we don't have today. Management has in all ways failed to honest and straight forward with fans and season tickets holders and I for one am tired of hearing the same BS over and over again with no results. This team is a shell because we have no leaders here from owner down. It a yes man ship on boat that needs a seasoned captain.

    Hey BOBO?

PA knows hoops huh? So why would you as an owner hire a coach like McMuffin to take the youngest fastest team in the NBA and turn them into the slowest pick and roll half court team since the Sloan coached Jazz? We are talking basketball aren't we?

JQ didn't have much of any sort of significance to say.

Said he wouldn't be surprised in Chad does become the GM, but would be shocked in Canales ended up as the coach. He didn't add much, as he now refuses to say anything that his sources are not okay with him providing the sources' name, so he basically said everything he's heard (which isn't necessarily a whole lot) comes across more as speculation at this point.

Oh, and it's way too early for us to know what we'll ultimately do with our picks (trade v. keep). But he was shocked that we're still looking at GM candidates, when we really need to make a decision and focus on the upcoming draft, since it is such a critical time for the franchise.

So, a team should at least be a champion contender in 5 years?

    Lets out:
    Atlanta
    Toronto
    Knicks
    Nets
    76ers
    Rockets
    Grizzlies
    Hornets
    Nuggets
    Jazz
    Twolves
    Warriors
    Pacers
    Bucks
    Bobcats
    Clippers
    Magic
    Suns
    Wizards
    Kings

None have been to conference finals (my def of champion contender) in over 5 years.
