I wonder whether OKC might make a play for CP3. He is a better fit with Durant than Russel Westbrook and OKC has a ton of young players.
After failing to satisfy trade proposal mandates for the NBA-owned New Orleans Hornets, the Los Angeles Lakers ended trade talks for Chris Paul on Saturday night, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. As the Lakers changed course, they traded Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks into a trade exception and set course in pursuit of Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard I'm not sure if Stern hurt or helped the Lakers, but looks like Paul going to the Lakers is not going to happen.
Laker fans on various message boards are acting like the 99%. "The NBA is so rigged" Ironical aint it?
giving away odom for free to a direct competitor for the west crown is headscratching to say the least...wtf
Kobe isn't happy. http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2011/12/kobe-bryant-on-lamar-odom-trade-i-dont-like-it/
Kinda boggles my mind as well. If in fact it's Bynum and pau for Howard, then why do this trade? Kobe, odom, meta and Howard is a pretty deadly combo, IMO.
well, profit has never been a problem there i dont think...just seems they could have gave him away to someone else even if that is the case
Nice to see the Lakers give someone great away for nothing, oppose to the other way around. Stupid, Stupid Move. I think Odom has taken a while but had finally reached his stride.
Dallas just got Odom, who's been starter or 6th man on championship teams and he's healthy. The league should nix this deal, too, since the defending champs just got an elite player for nothing (basically).
It does seem a little strange, but The League doesn't own either team (and trying to sell it) and Odom isn't on par with Chris Paul.
If I was OKC I would take Westbrook over CP3. Paul has some serious health concerns and after watching Roy retire at age 27, I think I'd be wary of taking anyone who has gimpy knees.
