The Clippers with CP3 are alright, but not a playoff lock by any stretch of the imagination. I'd offer Batum/Wallace/Camby/Babbitt/picks for CP3/Okafor. HUGE salary dump for them and some productive talent that doesn't hurt the franchise's balance sheet. CP3/LMA/Matthews/Okafor is a strong for for the short term.
Sam Amick @sam_amick At least one Clippers player is telling people he's headed to New Orleans, according to source who has spoken with him.
When the Clipps are contending again how many Laker 'fans' will convert? I'd guess at least 1/4 of 'em will hop on the CP3/Griff bandwagon.
Kobe will slow down. He has 40145 minutes played under his belt. To put that into perspective, 18-year vet Mutombo played 36000 minutes. Kobe is an old 33.
Sounds like Gordon isn't in the deal. PG: Chris Paul SG: Eric Gordon SF: Caron Butler PF: Blake Griffin C: DeAndre Jordan (?) They are better than the Lakers THIS year if they stay healthy.
Supposedly, Gordon is going to NO as well, along with Kaman, Aminu, and Minny's unprotected first round pick. That's a nice haul for NO, but it does make the Clips better. CP-Blake is gonna be a fantastic duo. http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...-hornets-chris-paul-submitted-nba-source-says
That's a much nicer haul for NO. They get Gordon AND that pick from Minnesota. That should be a decent pick when it's all said and done. I think Paul would have been worth ten times that three years ago, but now that's a pretty decent deal for him.
So to recap the difference b/w the two proposed trades: In one, NOH gets older, gets 2 30-something PF's as their two best players, add $50M in long-term salary and get draft picks in the late 20's. In the other, NOH gets one of the better young guards in the league, a serviceable C on an expiring contract, a young project and an unprotected lotto pick. You wonder why the owners said "no" to the first one?
And to be honest; I doubt Minny does well this season. That pick should net them something nice. Personally, I would love the Clippers to eventually be better than the Lakers in the next 10 years. Hopefully it happens. Clipper fans are pretty loyal. Well shit they had to be with Sterling as their owner. Hahahaha
The league wants Gordon AND Bledsoe in the deal, IMO just getting Gordon, the MIN pick , Aminu and Kaman is plenty fair.....
I agree. But NOH has to address the PG spot somewhere after that trade, so if they can get Bledsoe in it...
The NBA is really making a mess of this. http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/...lippers-trade-dies-price-too-high-sources-say
It's because the owners don't want Paul traded. They want to resell the Hornets and they have more value with Paul than without.
I don't feel bad for either team. Both have such an entitlement complex. Especially the Lakers. So...
