Christie and ever other overpaid baby that cries about where he plays are ruining this sport. You dont get to pick where you play till your a FREE agent. Not in the middle of the season because your team is losing. Take some responsibility and do better. Jim Jackson your a baby too. Let me get this right, you get paid millions of dollars to play a sport which average people pay to play in leagues across the country. You cry because your team is not the best in the league and then you sit out till they pay you to go play somewhere else. I cant stand players that only want to play for teams that are winning. IF your a free agent that is your choice, but everyone else, play the game and try to improve a team rather than just give up. MAN UP

    Hi guys,

just coming back from holiday and have to see that a lot of things are going on here, so great [IMG]

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Drake Remoray:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm not 100% sure but wasn't it only after the Doug Christie Trade that the Magic attained a losing record?</div>

Nope. We basically fell apart after a 13-6 start or more likely after the great start every other team knew how to stop our offense and we didn't have any Plan B, our defense sucked and our genius GM thought DC could solve it. I give him some credit for getting Mobley out of town, Mo together with Francis prevented Dwight / Jameer from developing any further. But as of now, I think a trade involving Francis could've been much better, but who would've wanted him?

    Before I go too off-topic:

DC needs to go but it's going to be difficult to get rid of him.

Hey Coranor, good to see you around.

I think we can get something for both Christie and Cato since some team that is rebuilding could use the expirings. I think we will get picks and maybe a player for them but nothing huge.

You kinda contradicted yourself. Some team that is rebuilding, but we would could get picks for them? If a team is rebuilding they would want to get as many picks as possible, unless you are talking about 2nd rounders and even then 2nd rounders aren't guaranteed so there's no point for rebuilding teams to at least attempt to keep their 2nds.

btw, welcome back Coranar and yeah he basically explained everything I was gonna say about the whole Christie situation. We were on a downslide(maybe not a losing record yet, but we were on our way down towards a losing record) before the trade.

    Yeah that's true. [IMG]

What about trading Cato and Christie and a future pick to the Hornets for Jamal Magloire. That way they get expirings and picks and we get a good big man incase Dwight can't make the transition to center.

Okay, it might not be that difficult to get rid of DC but I doubt we would get anything decent in return. I only see us getting some long-term contracts. But on second thoughts with the one-time chance of getting rid of a bad contract, teams might not need such trades since they just could waive their player.

Anyway, I'm not that sure whether I would like a deal Cato+DC - Magloire. Also, any other deal involving Cato needs to bring back a C, because I just don't like the idea of Dwight playing C and without Cato we don't have that much depth in our frontcourt.

Apart from DC trade rumours, this offseason seems to be looking like it's going to be pretty boring...

I agree with you on the boring offseason. There doesnt seem to be many moves we can make with the roster we have. Any move we could make would require giving up players we want to keep. Unless someone wants christie for an expiring contract, I dont see the magic making any moves. Maybe like last year we pick up some free agents from nbdl or players that werent drafted. The free agents we all wanted are wanted by everyone that either has money or a better chance of winning so they wont be coming here. I would have liked to seen shareef here but that looks slim now and I dont see us getting any decent SG or PG this free agency. Knowing the magic we might get a player past his prime to help out but nothing permenant.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Gdubbz:</div><div class="quote_post">hmm why did they trade mobley?? dumbest trade imo, christi can leave if he wants just give him a penalty and let the magic get some cash they need it after all the madness goin on there.</div>
I agree. You have a Mobley who can shoot lights out, run the court, and is a underrated defender, all for Christie a good defender with no offensive game, and old and worn out. I think the Magic would have done alot better with Mobley, but I WHATEVER
