He sucks. Now we have a Tanner Glass thing going on with Smith and Quinn. Gorton needs to do whatever he can to get rid of Smith now. Lindgren should not have been sent down.
Smith was kept due to his versatility (he can be the 7th dman and 13th forward). Lindgren was sent down because it made little sense to keep him as the 7th dman. He will be the first dman called up if someone gets injured or plays poorly. Not terrible to start in the AHL.
Either way, with Smith here or not, it didn't make sense to have Lindgren as the 7th dman I don't think. He'll get called up soon enough, Gorton said as much.
Opening day rosters rarely stay the same through the season. Good for Quinn sending a wakeup call to Filip. Boo had opportunities but either was odd man out or injured. I liked Lindgren's play, he's light years better than Staal or Smith but I get Quinn wanting a few seasoned vets around. Let's Go Rangers!
