Everybody wanted us to get out of there...that's no secret....I'm glad our troops were pulled out when they were and I'm glad American lives were spared by doing it

Meanwhile, AQI used the ongoing Syrian Civil War as a training ground and tool for expansion. In April 2013, Baghdadi announced AQI operations in Syria and changed the group’s name to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

We left too soon because Obama wanted to tuck tail and run away. He surrendered.

Syria is another bloody mess left to Trump from Obama and Clinton's time in office.

like I said..they retreat, regroup and import new members....not rocket science...but somehow you think all of this is OUR fault when it's not...it's a regional reality and our involvement started with both Bush administrations....Obama never started any of this...but you probably liked Cheney and Bush enough to give them a "wink and a nod"

How do you surrender after you won the war?

Assad made sure of it....he actually gave sanctuary to a ton of Iraqi's fleeing the country...he also created a bus station for recruiting jihadists from all over the planet and funneling them into Libya and Iraq

Leave all your tanks and jeeps and guns and ammo and other military gear and run away. That's the equipment ISIS used.

The war was actually won when Bush did his mission accomplished speech. The enemy was Saddam and his army. Defeated. Gone.

But we chose to stay and nation build. Like we did in Germany and Japan. Once that path was chosen, we're fucked if we don't see it through.

We spent at least $1T and thousands of lives. Blood and treasure. We earned the right to assure a stable government and security for the people. If it meant staying for a decade, that's how it goes. It's what we did in Germany and Japan and Korea.

Syria is Obama's fuck up. Line in the sand? I'd LOL but it would only be at him, the situation he made is horrible. Clinton was secretary of state. She left office with most of the middle east at war.

It's OK. Putin pulled his ass out of the fire.

now this is a practice we should change...but don't insult our brave troops by painting cowardly imagery about getting to go home as "running away"...bullshit

The troops did what the commander in chief ordered. It's not on them. They won the war and established a fragile peace.

A CIC with a clue would have assured that peace endured.

Obama had the chance. He blinked. Putin stepped in.

The only good thing about Assad is that he kept his country out of civil war for a long time. If Obama played his cards right, his overthrow might have happened later but without all the mess.

Obama's surrender destabilized Iraq to the point where the terrorists in Syria gained a foothold.

Assad is fighting ISIS. We're fighting Assad. Who are we really helping?

Maliki was as bad as Saddam. Obama gave Iraq to him. What does that say about our foreign policy under Clinton?

Obama has an excuse. He was well trained for the job by being a community organizer.

Clinton was supposedly a great pick for secretary of state.

But it is true. It's a fact.

Facts make the whole story real.
