No it's not at all. Taking care of the ball and not turning it over is called ball control. Not ball handling. Your ability to dribble and what you can do with the ball is ball handling. There's a reason why there's two separate attributes on 2K16.
i agree, but the way lillard just signed a 5 year dealw ith no option when he knows the cap is going to sky rocket just tells me he's in it for this team. when is the last time lamarsha grabbed a mic after an outstanding win and yelled rip city to the fans? lillard could have signed a deal with a player option or some shit and got paid by any team in the league by opting out after the cap inflates. but he didnt. unless management pulls an all time terrible move and trades him im convinced he's actually going to do a kobe/reggie miller and stay his whole career.
I totally agree, Dame has said all the right things and appeared nothing less than 100% honest in doing so. I do still have my reservations as to whether he's a Max player, given his limitations, but the team really had no choice but to fully commit to someone who represents them so well.
Damn, if someone doesn't think Dame is a max player then they have to believe there are only like 4 max players in the NBA.
Is he as good now as when he received his first all-star nod? I don't think so. His inside game is vastly improved, but he no longer inspires confidence (or fear, I would wager) whenever he pulls up for a mid-range or deep jumper. His ball handling is still shaky and his defense is only marginally improved, and it's looking like his ceiling in both categories is somewhat below average. He gets scored on at will, making his high points and assists averages rather misleading. A Max player should be clearly better than his opponent most nights, in my opinion, otherwise you're building a very average team for the long-run.
I totally agree he's a great leader, great role model and all that. But I just can't stand his 3 point shooting being so streaky compared to say Cj.. I personally believe Cj being a lot more efficient should shoot more than dame
Dame and CJ had great games last night against the Lakers...CJ is legit. Dame was born legit. We're pretty lucky to have them. I watched Will Barton run circles around Wes Mathews last night and youth is where it's at now...it's a young man's game.
I have a feeling we'll be trading CJ for one of Philly's bigs this coming summer (especially if they land Ben Simmons). I'm sure that, of their bigs they'd prefer to offer Okafor, I just hope if it happens we don't accept (he's like the poor man's Enes Kanter).
I was encouraged by last night's game, seeing CJ shake the LeBron double team with a timely cross-over. That's the major issue that Lillard has yet to correct. His tendency is always to back away from the trap instead of attacking it. I hope he was paying attention.
