I honestly hate to question people's intelligence, but if you take in all of the facts about Donald Trump, and you still think he's a good person and a good President.... well..... your favorite crayon flavor was probably purple.
Washington, Clackamas & Gresham have just pissed off Brown. This is what happens when the top leader support police like she should. https://www.oregonlive.com/clackama...rowns-request-to-staff-portland-protests.html
It's kind of sad, and a little telling, that you feel the need to take such a weird stance on things like this.
What is this thread about anyway? I knew the guy that got murdered Saturday night. Jay was a good dude. I didn’t know he was involved with Patriot Prayer but so what? What happened to him reflects on our city and state government. Ridiculous.
I'm sure it's partly jealousy (though honestly, I don't know why). We're closer to the ocean, our weather (overall) is better, and our winters aren't so brutal. Though, I do think the book that @DUB suggested explains a LOT of why the country is as weirdly tribal as it is.
Washington and Clackamas have been pissed at Portland for a while now. I believe the real reason is mentioned in the article you linked. Both Washington and Clackamas counties previously pulled out of a a mutual aid pact with Portland police, citing similar concerns. The decision came after a million-dollar judgment against Washington County and Hillsboro awarded after their officers wounded a man while helping Portland police with a search warrant.
I knew him as Jay. Didn’t even know his last name. He had a number of close friends that I knew too though. Pretty much everybody loved him.
I spent hours this morning reading tweets, etc. The accused killer was loved by people around him, too. Snowboarding instructor. Skateboarded with his son, who had tweeted in the past that he had the coolest father. Looks like he snapped over the provocation. The videos show the dead man yelling at the top of his lungs for a long time before he was shot, dominating the street. His wingman there was a more well-known fighter, Pappas, who shoved a guy who tried to help after the shooting. There was a car parked in the middle of the non-closed street the whole time, like an authority. Could have been another ally monitoring him.
