Cleveland would be a great trading partner IF the Blazers would trade LaMarcus.

If they want to trade him, then why wait for him to do that? Just trade him

Maybe they need a good reason to give to the fans that want to win and think he is the answer as in Riverman's case.

The fans who don't know about the demand because it's just between the two of them?

You mentioned it, if it's in both sides interest to get a deal done. Why would they let it out? While behind the scenes the request is been made by him and his agent.

I think they were busy offering him a max contract and saying he's absolutely the number one priority.

To be clear, I started this thread because I fear Aldridge won't stay with the Blazers, not because I don't think he deserves a hefty max contract. But if we get one year and then lose LMA for nothing it will kill the blazers chances for years to come. But if we can swap LMA for wiggins and Monroe, or something similar, then a Lillard led team would still stand a chance at winning year over year.

It's better to get something than nothing. There is a risk they lose him next year no matter how well they peform this next season.

So signing LA to a max at his age will kill the Blazers and losing LA will kill the Blazers.

Where is papag when you need him . . .

We could sign two Channing Fryes for what Aldridge wants. Two.... Two Channings.... think about it....

If LaMarcus for whatever reason does not sign the max offer, we'll know by Feb 2015 but as of now, both parties have expressed wanting this to last. Greg Monroe, good player but he's no LaMarcus Aldridge by any stretch. I site my strongest reason for LaMarcus loving his current team and situation. Watch the last couple allstar games and see how he's treated. He's ignored. Here, he's respected. That has value. That's a collective mindset now that is beyond rare in the NBA. Unselfish players that trust each other and actually like each other. Look at Indiana last year. Tons of talent and well...you get my point.

Two different opinions, just because they both exist doesn't mean the same people believe both.

Me, if LMA signed max and stayed a Blazer I'd be happy. But I fear he will leave instead, and that atom bomb our future.

..take that fear, and put it towards rooting for the Blazers.

Because if they live up to their potential, Aldridge won't be going anywhere.
