Would be nice to get a rookie who doesn't get hurt in the first summer league game. That's all I want.

    Clingan will make history!

Or at the very least medical textbooks, "The Clingan procedure was named after Donavan Clingan who after a freak basketball injury in 2025 became the first person in the world to have knees replaced with horse ankles."

I voted meh, because it seems like they took who they thought is the BPA.

    I'm good with it.

Edey and Clingan will be forever linked, with Edey going just 2 picks later. I hope Edey doesn't turn into a star now. I think the Blazers took the wrong center.

He will get hurt in the 1st game. It's a certainty.

A very safe pick on Portland's part.

I've already listed his offensive impact should be akin to Brad Daugherty, where he isn't flashy but will be able to generate quiet offense. Duncan also got compared to Daugherty, back in the day, and we can say Duncan's offense was quiet and non-flashy. Of course, Duncan was a far superior prospect so, other than defensive impact, that's as far as comps go between Clingan and him.

I anticipate Clingan to do well. Just expect Ayton with more energy and hustle and a little more defense.

And yes, unfortunately, injury concerns are definitely real here. 7'2" and mobile/physical with foot injury might not look good.

Personally, I like Clingan a whole lot, just not for Portland and I think Portland fans might be a little upset when a future All-Star taken 1-4 spots from here gets missed out on. Whether that's fair or not, that's probably what the discourse will be.

We are the Blazers, injuries are guaranteed.

In all seriousness, I'm cool with the pick. I get that people have there preferences of others that were left at our pick, but we did what we did, so lets just support him and hope for the best.

He reminds of Kessler from Utah that type of player not to bad of a pick.

I'm meh, don't think he's going to move the needle at all. This draft is kind of weak so it's alright. Hoping we make more moves.

He is a guy who is a winner, many mocks had him going higher than 7 with some saying Atlanta might even take him #1. This is exactly what I was hoping with him falling into the Blazer's lap. Who knows how it will play out with him but I think there were threads on here about trying to move up to get him. We didn't have to do that! Happy he is a Blazer and gives us flexibility now to move on from Ayton potentially.

I voted meh, but the pick looks better with the Avdija addition—I did want Buzelis, but Avdija is a better player right now.

Time to try more DA at PF.

Donvan can rebound, block shots, and finish inside. I'm tired of soft centers. Nurk wasn't really soft, but he'd do these crazy flip shots at the rim rather than throwing it down. It's even driving Sun fans crazy now.

We need to move on from Ayton who wants to shoot jumpers.
