How though? 2018, 2020, 2022? Can we even already offer 2022 picks?

He probably did. And LAC just gave him more money then they were going to instead of it.

That's cool. Since you have to have 8 yrs in that removes all RFAs and many UFAs. Since you have to have been with the team for 4 years it basically removes all the other ones that weren't going back anyway.

i.e., you don't get to go to the L*kers and get a no-trade.

If you read the "Tough Decisions" thread (cough), you know that we can offer up to 2024 right now. It's the "7 draft" rule.

So Detroit was 4 games under 500 with players like Harris, Avery Bradley, and Drummond .........I like them too but let's keep things in perspective.....those two are not worth mortgaging the future for.

I won't be surprised if we get Jordan after this, by offering Meyers, Harkless and a 1st. They would waive and stretch Meyers, move Harkless for someone else or a pick and use the 1st.

We would use Nurkic to get a wing.

I would certainly be surprised. In fact, I would be shocked. That would be an amazing return for Moe/Meyers.

The pick would be the prize, players to match salaries. I am not sure but I think if you waive and stretch Meyers he is going to cost $4M a year. Harkless could get his value to neutral so they might be able to clear him without attaching any assets.

Sure, but what kind of prize would that pick be if we were to add Jordan for basically nothing, and then convert Nurkic into a comparable-caliber wing? I'd give up a pick in the 20's to shed Moe and Meyers for nothing, let alone to add an elite rebounder/rim protector to the squad for a year.

Booker and Mitchell would be a nice backcourt to be fair.

We clearly couldn't have gotten Griffen for scraps.

Canzano has Paul Allen afraid of his own shadow when players like Avery Harris are available. Olshey is handcuffed by the local moral guardians.
