I saw that game & THAT IS the thing I remember most about it:mad2: Lawler is such a piece of shit! It's not actually what he said BUT how he said it AND who said it that pissed/es me off! :smiley-violence:Even before he said ^; I've ALWAYS hated him & that ULTRA-douche voice (THE laugh IS THE worst though)! Those that have heard/watched him, u know what I'm talking about :smiley-whatever: Lawler is the biggest homer (only the Utah Jizzmoppers announcers can fight Lawler for king homer status).

They should definitely play this on the jumbotron at Moda before game 3. Follow that with an audio clip of Lawler's idiotic "bingggooooo!!!!" schtick and it would be glorious.

I like Lawler; he's a throwback to a bygone era. He was wrong as hell but I still like him.

Yeah, I like Lawler too. Matt Smith sucks though.

I have to admit to liking Lawler as well. He's kind of fun. The only announcers I absolutely can't stand are the Boston guys. They make me want to stick sharp things in my ears and press really hard.

    OKC
    Boston
    Houston

are the ones I can't stand. I'll watch the game on a 2 minute delay rather than have to listen to them.

Good call on the others. Boston still takes the cake for me though. This was my first season living outside of Oregon and I had to watch a lot of games with the opponent feed. I have no idea how people from Boston can even watch their own team play. I would have to move and become a fan of another team.

Literally right before they introduce the Slippers, play this video really, really loud, then cut to a live shot these two nitwits and then see how loud the mocking laughter gets...

The actually missed as much on the "8 very good teams" as they did on the Blazers. Portland certainly over-performed expectations but if the West had been what it was like the last few years, Portland still wouldn't have made the playoffs. I saw a stat somewhere that said only once in the last 20 years or so had a #5 seed in the West had this poor of a record. Last year the #8 seed had 45 wins and everyone else was over 50. The 2 previous seasons,, the #8 seed had 49 wins with everyone else over 50. The year before that the #8 seed was at 45 wins and so on.

Glad Portland is where they are but there is still historical perspective.

Does a 4-6 game swing in an 82 game season really mean that much though? And maybe its just time for the pendulum to swing back to a more even pairing between the Western and Eastern Conferences? With Dallas diminishing, The lakers in lost land, Houston about to blow it up, Half of SA retiring, I don't think the west is going to be as dominate again for at least a few years, so what was is exactly that... the past. Welcome to the present and probably future now. :)

Hopefully Portland is just better. Being good because everyone else is worse isn't much of an accomplishment.
