Wow the Clippers should be disgusted in themselves after a performance like that. They mailed it in after the 1st, and usually the games are still entertaining but jeez they didn't even try anymore.
I was amused by a report that the Clippers were trying to pawn off Baron Davis at the trade deadline and absolutely no one was interested. Now I see why...the guy is at the start of a long-term, big-money contract and is already phoning it in. Just a couple of years ago, people were talking about the resurgence of Baron. Pretty short return.
jumping into the end of this thread . . . when i heard the announcer calling the starting line up for the Clips, I turned to the person next to me and said there is no way we lose this game. That starting line up was a joke . . . I don't blmae the players as much as who the franchise put out there to compete.
Davis seems a lot like Vince Carter--the exact wrong kind of star to have if your team has little hope, but pretty damned good if you are in a competitive situation. That's why I'm in the minority about Kevin Garnett. I'll always respect him for all the years he gave maximum effort to a Timberwolves franchise that seemed determined to avoid adding additional talent. Is he an arrogant prick? Yes. But he's not a quitter.
it's the franchises fault that their players suffered injuries or are missing games because of a suspension? If Portland was missing their top 3 Bigs plus their starting SF, they'd probably suck too. Heck Sean Livingston should be a starter for them as well. Sure they stink, but bad luck has had much to do with why. STOMP
I've always maintained that their trainers have to be some of the worst in sports. Look at how many of their key players have been injured throughout the last decade. It's astonishing to see how every year they have the most significant of players injured.
Man stomp . . . OK maybe I didn't phrase that well. I guess it's not the franchise's fault, my point was that it wasn't so much the players mailing it in as much as it was the line up put out there for the reason the Blazers dominated. Maybe it is the franchise's fault for having such a terrible second unit , but sure, bad luck seems like the more appropriate phrase.
