Thanks Fez....it's been a life changing challenge...6 months from now I should be able to live a normal active life....until then I have to manage things carefully..my goal is to keep the ticker workin' at least another 30 years...I'll be 94 if I can do that
Riverman, I was doing some, um, er, cough cough, let's just call it research and I came across this. Before you look at it I want to know if the old ticker can take it. . . . Well? Okay, here it goes - http://www.nude-beauty.net/index.htm
What the hell? I did click on it for some reason. Then immediately closed it. Then I reopened it. The pics were tame and I was like "even old guy's internet porn is boring" Then I scrolled down and at least the ads were hard core. Bang bros and the like.
I know you understand but just in case anyone else gets the wrong idea, those pictures actually mean nothing to me at my age. Also, it was strictly a joke. Does kind of take me back to my younger years, though.
It's all good....I don't watch the stuff but in my youth I sure would've.....no internet back then...just magazines
Although not a Republican, I would have loved to have been able to have either or both of the Bush Presidents as my next door neighbors. Think of the BBQs. Also, I greatly admire Barbara Bush.
Got the call this morning I've been waiting for....Aug 30....5:30 in the morn I get zapped....4 hour procedure...can't wait to get the heart rebooted so I can go back to taking long walks....lifting things...excercising more intensely...it's a good day today knowing it's a few weeks away!
Had to go get refitted for a tux for my son's wedding yesterday.....in 6 weeks I've gone from a 39 inch waist to a 34 inch waist....something good has come from this health problem!
At 5:30 in the morning tomorrow I'll undergo the 6 hour procedure of restarting my heart...I'm a bit nervous but folks say it's nothing to worry about. Hopefully it'll spark the blood flow and jumpstart the recovery of my heart tissue so I can resume normal activities in a few months...fingers crossed!
Good luck @riverman I'll be thinking about you in the morning. Hope all goes well. Let us know as soon as you can.
Good luck to you my friend. Besides your own concerns, the next thoughts are about your family. That's how I felt when I went into the hospital July 2014.
I've had it done. Walk in the park. In my case my heart was often beating at a rate of 150 sometimes 180. They tried it to see if they could get the rate closer to normal. Didn't work for me. Had to resort to drugs. Drugs work good but now I have a problem with low blood pressure. It's a balancing act in my case. Well, I just one anecdote but a positive one if it means anything.
