His statement about trading CJ IMO was mind boggling considering that even casual fans know that the Dame/CJ experiment had long since been played out and no matter how much of a producer CJ had been for the team it just wasn't going to work.
Giving up on him? After only 9 yrs and little to show for it? Seems kind of clueless to me.

“When teams give up great players like that you kind of wonder what they are thinking,” Drexler said. “He (McCollum) is in his prime. Here is a guy who has been a great producer for your franchise and you give up on him. As a casual fan and as a guy who knows a little about the game I don’t understand those moves because the more good players you get the better your chances are of winning.”

Clyde is a fucking Dbag, used to have a lot of respect for him, still do as a player, but he turned his back on this franchise a long time ago. Super fucked too considering we sent him where he wanted to go for a ring. Clyde doesn’t know shit about building a winning team, considering he is the one who was rumored to have issue with acquiring Barkley back in the day I find his “wanting all the best players you can get” comments hilarious.

I completely disagree with defending Clyde here. I had no problem with him going to Houston. I had a HUGE problem with him wearing a Houston jersey when he was barely there at all during the 50 greatest players. Him encouraging Dame to leave Portland is shitty. If Clyde can say this shit, he can live with the consequences. Why are you defending him here? His decision to go to Houston is NOT what he is proposing here, also he should be kissing our ass for not trading him for the best package available, and instead we traded him to Houston for almost nothing as a favor to him. Clyde has been an asshat about Portland for decades now despite us never to my knowledge doing anything but help him from his rookie season to the trade to Houston. Drexler is being an asshole here, plain and simple and your defense of him is eyebrow-raising.

Drexler is just continuing to harm his reputation in Portland with this and he clearly doesn't care. His not only not caring about Portland, but actively going after us for decades at seemingly every opportunity is one of the weirdest things I can think of. I am starting to actively dislike Drexler. Clyde was my favorite Blazer until Brandon Roy and then it was close. Drexler couldn't hold Dame's jockstrap at this point in my eyes. If he wants to shit on his Portland legacy with this? Fine, then we are going to shit on your legacy too.

It's an analogy bro and a pretty good one. You're just wrong to be defending Clyde here. I respect you a ton, but you've got this one wrong. Big time.

Wasn't he playing with 4 other all star players?
    Drexler, Porter, Buck, Duck, Cliffy...
Drexler has nothing to complain about.

BINGO! They still almost lost before the finals and he wasn't producing at a high level at that point

Even The Big Red Head has been good to PDX and fans and he left pissed at Organization. I always wondered if Paul had owned the Blazers during Bills years here if Paul could kept him here.
Clyde comments were not necessary, you’d think he was smarter than that.

To be fair, he didn't say he "knows a lot about the game."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Drexler kind of lazy as far as work ethic during practices etc?

That has been said. It has also been said that he made it look so easy that people thought he wasn't working hard.
Two ways to look at it.
