Of course they do, you don't think it would be more so if it was a 5'6 female, being screamed at by a 6'10 dude?
I mean maybe it wouldn't be.

    HEADLINE:

Rampant sexism in NBA? Player Treatment of Becky Hammon suggests so.

    OR

TMZ REPORTS BECKY HAMMON CAUGHT GIVING “BECKY” TO PLAYER IN LOCKER ROOM?!

Ok, the last one was just a joke lol but I could totally see the first one being a story headline for a site like Huffpost.

I want her or a female to be a head coach, I think there are plenty of females that could do a good job. I get that players have to deal with media crap all the time (and maybe it would be no worse with a female), but I could see certain outlets coming out in droves to tell us how much of a pig some player is because they yelled at a female coach the same way they normally would. While media now will maybe spend a day or two saying how awful you were for yelling at a coach, you start flinging the you're a sexist, and you don't like women, and that stuff around and a player could find themselves in a bad position come contract time.

That's really surprising. Of course, the voting was for the regular season, not the playoffs. If the voting were held today, I bet Stevens would steal most, of not all, of Casey's (and Stotts') votes.

I wonder why the NBA coaches consider the regular season such a valuable indicator of a coach's achievement.

Because not all of them get to coach in the playoffs?

You could perhaps extend the argument a bit further: The biggest stars win in the playoffs. The coach's job is to get them there with as good of a seed as possible. Not sure I'd buy it, but the case could be made.

Must be someone Olshey is close with. Regular season valuable....Playoffs, not an indicator of anything....especially when the team you put together has lost double digit games in a row.

At least the Raptors have the balls to change direction when the team is a failure... but Blazers won 13 regular season games in a row and Terry is a good guy so we should extend him 5 more years

The Blazers ceiling if everything goes our way is to become the Raptors... and winning 60 games isn’t good enough for them, playoffs results actually matter... unbelievable Stotts still has a job

Hilarious (except for Casey). The easiest, least expensive action by a franchise to placate the pitchfork and torch-bearing fans who demand for CHANGE!!! is to fire the coach. Never mind that he just lead the team to its best finish and was named Coach of the Year. The Raptors couldn't beat LeBron and so someone's head has to roll.

Casey is a much better coach than Stotts... no way he joins his staff. Maybe Stotts can join Casey’s staff when his contract runs out next year
