Then if they really DO love him, then it's because he lets them do whatever the fuck they want without any structure or leadership.
This team is young enough that a great college coach could have an impact. Jay Wright would be my target.
So let me see if I got this straight.... You'd rather have a coach with no discipline, structure, who has a horrible timeout record, and who can't structure new plays on the court......verses another head coach? I admit that I'm no expert on head coaches; I don't watch college basketball, nor do I follow other teams besides the Blazers. But your answer seems very stand-offish and lame. No offense.
I do! Thank you Ime for convincing Pops that LMA and his 42% jump shot was worth a max contract for SA!
I've generally been on the fence about retaining Stotts, but hearing that he thinks Durant is the best defender on GS convinced me that he simply doesn't understand that half of the game. Durant is a solid defender, sure, but he's nowhere near Green and Iggy's level, and arguably not any better than McGee, Thompson, Livingston, West, etc.
I'll be shocked and upset if Stotts gets fired. He's a damn good coach. It's the roster that's the problem, not his coaching.
Why the fascination with Bennet? He is a fantastic college coach for sure, but he runs a system made for college. He wouldn't be able to run the pack line defense in the NBA and he is a slow down grind it out offensive guy. I'm not sure if I see the NBA translation. What do you see in him that you think would work, just curious?
Yeah Tony Bennett is awesome. Too bad Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra are no longer available that would be a great group.
Kenny Loggins would be a better choice, with Messina as his assistant. They've worked together before.
Marc Jackson? I've endured some shitty Blazers coaches, and some mediocre coaches that I just didn't like, but I'd literally quit the Blazers if they hired fucking Marc Jackson.
If the Blazers hired Mark Jackson in any capacity, I would seriously have to consider finding something more constructive to do with my time.
I'm not ready for Stotts to go. The grass is always greener on the other side. Stotts has done a lot of good things for this team, maybe he isn't the guy to get us to the top, but he has done a dang good job for us in his time here. I want to see what he can do with a full season of Nurk. We all know the roster is flawed, so why are we expecting unattainable things from Stotts with this roster?
