Our entire legal system is based on plea deals. People cop to shit they didn’t do every day by the truckload. I get the virtue of not pleading guilty to a crime you didn’t commit, but it happens all day long. It’s like, go to trial and maybe get 3 years, or cop a deal and get probation. No brainer for pretty much everyone unless you have big lawyer money. It’s unfortunate, but it’s reality.
