...opinions? ...this terrible attempt at journalism by Ian fucking O'Conner has to be some of the work drivel I've ever read; http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ick-did-controversial-was-not-un-american-nfl ...I wanted to claw my eyes out after reading it.
The entire thing is absurd from the standpoint that it's a publicity stunt from a guy who went from playing in the Super Bowl to becoming an afterthought that's going to sit on the bench. There's nothing wrong with standing up for something you believe in but not when it's as transparent as this is. Not to mention this is the wrong way to go about it when you're representing an entire organization. You become a distraction and you put the onus on the organization and your teammates to take the hits for you on what's an individual decision and action.
^^^ DING DING DING !...WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER ! ...the thought also crossed my mind that this "stunt" is nothing but a pre-emptive move on his part because he suspects that the 49ers may soon want to part ways with him because his contract is very team friendly...and if they do try to release him he can sue for the rest of his money by claiming they cut him because of his misguided views. ...as you said, he has a right to his opinions but he's going about it all wrong. And for people to somehow parallel what he's doing to what Ali and John Carlos et al bravely did is a freaking joke. That was fifty fucking years ago and things have changed greatly since then...if this ass hat truly believes that blacks are still held back and persecuted by whitey I'd like him to explain how a black man and a mediocre QB such as himself can somehow still rise to the position of getting a $110 + Mil contract. ...I call BS on his whole narrative...not only on its basis of principle but also the vehicle by which he's using (National Anthem) in order to protest what he feels is injustice.
I'm convinced he has an agenda. And I'm sure it is only about football. It is not about any social issues. The guy is an egoist........his only concern is himself! (Remind you of anyone running for President?)
HA ! http://sports.yahoo.com/news/big-consequences-49ers-cut-colin-000000252.html http://www.breitbart.com/video/2016...-an-insignificant-fly-who-should-stay-seated/ http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/dear-colin-kaepernick-youre-not-oppressed-youre-spoiled/
The guy is an egoist........his only concern is himself! (Remind you of anyone running for President?) _______________ Yup....only one person who has run for President has a big "ego"....and the beat goes on...... ....like the sound of an empty tin can. At least Kaepernick has shown more guts, fairness and honesty than the members of MSNBC, CNN, LA Times, Washington Post, NY Times...ect ect ect "We have a presidential candidate who has deleted emails and done things illegally. . . If it was any other person, they'd be in prison". "You have Hillary, who has called black kids, or black teens, ‘Super-predators,'” Kaepernick said, Lmao
The ink is black, the page is white, together we learn to read and write. Damn truthful article in my view.
That line covers many bases in my view. I was not a TDN Fan however that line the ink is black, the page is white, is so damn simple and true one cannot help but respect the line itself and the individual who wrote it. Back in the day when listening to FM Rock the song stood out among others and as one who bases most of what I do on common sense that line just hit home.
Yep, saw that guy on one of those shows dealing with getting people squared away, that guy was a train wreck.
...I noticed that another mediocre player from Seattle decided to sit out the anthem. ...and now this response from the Police...kudos to them ! ; http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-kaepernick-anthem-20160904-snap-story.html
Funny but I recall him being adamant that he was neither a black or white QB, just a talented athlete. When the talent wained, he opted for the race crutch.
^^^ Tote, I don't think we're supposed to bring up these points......I also noticed that an obscure lesbian soccer player is now joining in...she claims that like Kaepernick, she also knows what it's like to be persecuted. ...it seems these people want to be some sort of martyrs but my question is martys for exactly what?...and exactly how and exactly who is being persecuted? ...funny stuff...welcome to "The United States of the Offended."
This is where the diversity and tolerance train went wrong. It never meant you were going to cheered for your choices. Does mean you get the kind of unconditional acceptance you crave. As for things you can't choose....like race, affirmative action did more harm than good. You cannot ask cops to ignore crime statistics. And stats show overwhelmingly cops are good. Unfortunately facts that don't fit agendas are ignored.
