The Colin Kaepernick-Vernon Davis connection continues to dazzle. They hooked up on a pretty 40-yard touchdown pass down the middle. Kaepernick who is sometimes criticized for his lack of touch dropped a beautiful pass into Davis between Carlos Rogers and Craig Dahl on another play. Rookie Vance McDonald did not practice after hardly participating on Saturday however Garrett Celek looked excellent in his place. Celek came out of Michigan State as a blocking tight end but he continues to catch the ball easily.

-Cornerback Tramaine Brock who started in the nickel defense against the Broncos did not take part in team drills and hasn’t practiced much in the last two days. Perrish Cox is taking his place.

-Running back Anthony Dixon and guard Mike Iupati looked like they injured themselves. Iupati looked as if he jacked up his shoulder while Dixon limped off the field as if he had a hot foot. Both players returned to practice. This is football after all.

-Quarterback Colt McCoy was back at practice after sustaining what he thought was a stinger to his non-throwing shoulder against Denver.

-Running back Frank Gore has been more of a presence in practice lately and might get a few snaps Friday night in Kansas City. Gore made a diving touchdown catch from Kaepernick from about 5-yards away for the play of the day. Kaepernick also flipped a lateral to Gore while on the run on another play – it was a great piece of improvisation.

-Wide receiver Ricardo Lockette struggled with a couple of dropped passes.
