Maryland is up 20-17 on Clemson in the 4th Florida and Ole Miss are tied 17 all in the 3rd Duke is destroying Virginia 24-3 in the 4th Indiana is killing themselves against MSU, down 29-36 at the start of the 4th
And Iowa loses....not a suprise. They played like crap most of the game. Five turnovers is totally unacceptable, and when you turn it over that much, you don't have any right even being in the game, no less having an opportunity to win it down the stretch. Some positives did come out of this. Stanzi looked pretty damn good, though his passes down near the goal line weren't that great. One thing though...when it's 1st and goal from the 8...why not at least try to run it? Especially when you consider they ran the ball very, very well against the NW defense today. To pass it four times in that situation was mind boggling, especially when you get down there with one timeout and about 2 minutes left. There was no excuse to throw four straight times, regardless of how well Stanzi was throwing the football. Oh well, I'm just hoping that this game answers the QB question, that way Iowa can stop playing musical chairs at QB every damn week.
Brian Kelly has the Cats go for two 4th and shorts in the red zone and UC failed on both. The defense is non-existent and UC is losing to Akron 7-9
Florida State is up 14-7 on Colorado Wisky is up 16-0 on Michigan Auburn 14-6 over Tenn Navy is up 17-0 on Wake
Rutgers finally playing some good football. Up 35-0 on Morgan State at the half. Jourdan Brooks: 3 rush TD's.
UC played well to start the 2nd half. Defenses forces a 3 and out and then Pike hooks up with Gilyard for a 67 yard TD. Now the defense is sucking again and letting Akron march down the field
Fuck, UC is killing themselves this game down 15-14 and now Tony Pike is hurt. 3rd string red-shirt freshman QB coming into a road game.
So, I'm not watching the 'Bama vs Georgia game, but could someone tell me this: Is this a case of 'Bama being that damn good, or is it a case of Georgia just being HIGHLY overrated. Because quite frankly, I didn't expect to see a score of 31-0 at the half in favor of 'Bama.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It's a case of Alabama's offensive line playing out of its mind. It's been nearly a flawless game from that standpoint. Defensive line as well. AJ Green had a catch that he could have broken for a big gain, but he somehow lost it right after he caught it. A Bama player happened to be in the right place at the right time and intercepted it before it could hit the ground. That basically explains the night so far. It's just one of those games. Green also nearly hauled in a ridiculously deep pass from Stafford in double coverage. That would have been a big play for UGA. Instead, they had to punt. Just not going their way right now.
Alabama is dominating the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, their defensive backfield is playing tight man coverage and forcing mistakes, John Parker Wilson has been perfect, all the Alabama playmakers are physically beating their (mostly smaller) Georgia counterparts. Georgia might be a bit overrated, but Alabama is awesome. They are a legit title contender.
That's pretty much what's happening. Throughout the preceding games Georgia has shown a total inability to get a pass rush. They are getting dominated off the ball on running plays and can't get to JPWilson, and he's just picking them apart. The O-Line was the biggest weakness coming into the season and when Trinton Sturdivant got hurt for the year in practice before the season, that was just bad news. Stafford is getting no time, and the most effective weapon on offense (Moreno) has been taken out of the game. The only good thing is that Tripp Chandler (TE #86) got hurt, because he SUCKS.
For a bit there, it looked like Georgia was going to make the comeback. They looked pretty good in the second half, but regardless of how well you play, when you put yourself in a 31-0 hole at the half, you have to be perfect for the rest of the game, and they weren't. 'Bama played a hell of a game and from the sounds/looks of it, they could end up with their name up there in title talks come years end.
Great first half of the Bama/Ga game. 2nd half, seems like Bama did the exact opposite of what Saban told them during half time. I'm not ready to say Bama is NC Contender just yet, but they are a very good young team. Georgia is a good team, they just got out played in the 1st half by a better team.
