FICTION, He's not that great. He was just kind of like a breath of fresh air to MSU last year because he was the first legit Point Guard they have had since Marcus Taylor. They just need him to bring the ball up the court and run the offense, and he does that, nothing extra really. He's the kind of guy who will play thirty minutes and have five or six points but still be very useful; a.k.a a definition of a role player. There's also that little problem of playing in the same conference as guys like Dee Brown and Daniel Horton (although I know you're not big on Horton).

Fact or Fiction - Incoming 6-11, 242 lbs. transfer Mohamed Kone will lead Valparaiso in scoring and rebounding this season.

Fact, with that size he should do well.

F or F Taquan Dean will emerge as the best player in the Big East.

FICTION, Maybe he'll be the best player on Louisville (although I think Padgett will be), but he has too much competition in the Big East: Allan Ray, Gerry McNamara, Josh Boone, Curtis Sumpter, Torin Francis, Carl Krauser, Randy Foye, Brandon Bowman, etc.

Fact or Fiction - Josh Boone will lead UConn in scoring this season.

Fiction, I think Rudy Gay will.

F or F Without Hakim Warrick Jerry Macnamara will have to play like an All American to lead Syracuse back to the tourney.

Fiction I think Cuse will make the tourney, but McNamara won't be an All American. He'll continue to tease us with great games but can't seem to put it together and become a true superstar. Maybe he'll break out without Warrick...

Fact or Fiction: Ronnie Brewer will be SEC Player of the Year

FICTION, I'm sold that Rajon Rondo is the best player in the SEC right now. Brewer will be up there, but Kentucky is better than Arkansas, and they usually give the Player of the Year award to players from good teams (ie: Dee Brown over Bracey Wright and Vincent Grier.

Fact or Fiction - The ACC will only be the 5th conference in college basketball this season (most likely behind the Big Ten, Big East, Pac-10, and Big 12/SEC/A-10).

Fiction-They'll be #4 behind 1. Big East 2. Big 10 3. Pac 10. I want to say that the Big 12 is better too, but they're just slightly behind. The SEC id down this year, and the A 10 is on the way back up, but it will take a couple years for them to get the respect they probably deserve.

Fact or Fiction Jordan Farmar is the best PG in the Pac 10

FACT, I think it's pretty much a tie between him and Aaron Brooks (one of the most underrated players in the NCAA) at this point with Chris Hernandez not far behind. Talent-wise, I think that Mustafa Shakur is up there, but he hasn't really played up to his potential yet. This could very well be his breakout year and put him at #1, but until then, Farmar is king.

Fact or Fiction - Jose Juan Barea is the most underrated player in the NCAA after averaging 22.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, and 7.3 apg and leading Northeastern to a 21-9 record against teams like UConn and Vermont, all while still being a virtual unknown.

FICTION. He is a great player but as far as most underrated in the nation? I don't know yet. Guys such as Ronald Steele, DJ White, Aaron Bruce, and Nick Fazekas are all underrated. There are so many players now that aren't getting the credit they deserve it's just hard to focus on one.

Fact or Fiction - Larry Brown will make a return to coaching college basketball before he retires (St. John's maybe?).

FICTION, I have no idea really, but that seems like a stretch. He's not going to leave the Knicks immediately, and he's only got a few years left in him. Unless he plans on coaching until he dies, then it seems unlikely.

Fact or Fiction - Walter Sharpe (Mississippi State) will have a breakout season.

(BTW - I disagree with all of the guys you named. Ron Steele hasn't done what Barea has done, and he has gotten just as much, if not more recognition. He also plays in the SEC for a team that's always on television. When was the last time you saw Northeastern play? D.J. White also plays for a big time team, Indiana. He was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. How much more recognition can he get? Nick Fazekas does play for Nevada, but they've been like Gonzaga recently; hardly a mid-major even though they play in a small conference. Fazekas also played on the U-21 team. Aaron Bruce I can understand, but he still hasn't put up half the numbers that Barea has, and Baylor's lineup is depleted because of the murder. Maybe there is a player more underrated than Barea, and the whole question is extremely subjective, but I personally don't think that any of the guys you named are more underrated.)
