Re: the Hernandez comp...obviously, I'm referring to his attitude, ability to be coached, freakish talent, respect for others, etc. There are some other similarities, but I'll leave that open to interpretation. Both apparently make terrible decisions and may (although Colt could prove us all wrong) have wasted an amazing career. As it stands now, I would hate to see Colt's decisions with a few mil in his pocket. So, it's cool to compare him to Cliff - substance abuse, poor decisions, arrests but not Hernandez (who has not been found guilty)? Cool for you, but I disagree and will draw any comparisons I feel. You're free to disagree but don't try to tell me what I can and can't think.
Can is free to have an opinion. It's not any more valuable than any of ours. I would say his opinion stinks. Let's blame Chip too for being the Commander in Chief who offered/recruited above mentioned players. Heck, let's blame Bellotti for empowering Chip.
My response was in jest, referring to how stacked we are at virtually every position. Our 2nd string at every position could beat the last half of the Pac-12 teams IMO.
His immense talent guarantees him that. But his strange behavior and piss poor attitude may cost him a few rounds.
Oh, I think he'll self destruct, but I think some team will give him a shot. The guy has too much talent and he's a known commodity. Every game someone would talk about "Colt Lyerla and his NFL ready body." Who knows, maybe he'll get his shit together.
I know this kid we could recruit to play LB. I think his name is Colt and is a local kid. He's had some issues in the past but heck, you never know....
