I hate to hate on certain fans or members on this board because everyone is well behaved and usually generates solid discussion but something that is insanely unnecessary is the way certain fans (Nets fans, mostly, sorry guys) who keep to their nets forum and use it for every single tidbit of NBA news. for instance. The Artest trade just hit the news wire. So instead of going into the Rockets or Kings forum and saying, hey this just happened. They go to the Nets forum and post the topic. This topic has nothing to do with the Nets AT ALL. It creates more threads then necessary and S2/forum exclusion. It also bumps the same topic many times and bumps off other threads with different array of topics. I just don;t see the point of it and it really makes me not want to visit this site because of its clicky mentality and lack of general discussion. As aforementioned I have no problem with any particular person, I just think it wouldn't just hurt using some discussion board common sense. Its an issue that the leadership is well aware of, and steps are being taken to pull some of those fans out of their home forums more....is it working? i dont know yet....
^ I don't think using the boards properly is too much to ask? I'm not whining. I'm bringing out what I felt was a flaw in this sites activity. I had a forum based complaint and I presented it. You on the other hand came in here like an arrogant asshole and played the superiority card.

Ignore him, Giantsfan. The staff is aware of this (and we do appreciate feedback).... some have begun to venture out into other forums on S2. Others haven't. But it is something that we are trying to address.

Thanks for the input! As a Nets mod I can say that this issue has been being discussed for some time now (previous to this thread in fact). Now that the off-season is winding down, we're going to resume keeping the forum organized as it was during the season, rather than have it be more relaxed as to improve off-season activity.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Vintage @ Jul 29 2008, 09:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Trust me. Some of the Nets fans.... you'll be praying they stay IN the Nets forum.</div> That's the truth. You should want the Nets community to stay on the Nets board and not parasitically infest other boards with the dumbassery that's rampant there. The Nets community is basically a community within a community here, it's always been like that with posting within the Nets forum, and such. What's the point of having a Nets OT board? Should all those posts be moved to the S2 off-topic forum and the board deleted? Many of them don't go outside the Nets forum. When I posted on BBF, I never left the Nets forum, because it was there for me to talk basketball about the Nets & off topic NBA happenings, but more importantly how they related to the Nets. That's how a lot of the Nets posters here are, too. The other stuff STILL gets posted on the team boards for other teams, it's not like they are being neglected, and it doesn't clutter the board up, because they are in the respective forums. If it annoys you so much, don't go to the Nets forum, just go post it in the right team forum and talk about it there. Nets fans like to talk about a lot of happenings in the NBA and how it pertains to the Nets; almost every one of those threads in the Nets forum winds up talking about how the move affects the NJ Nets. As far as the links you posted, NY Knicks news is usually related to the Nets, as they are our cross town rival. Lebron is always a hot topic in the Nets forum, too, as it's believed by many that the Nets will make a push for him in 2010.
and I'm not even done yet! Another issue you would need to resolve with this is that a lot of traffic to the Nets forum comes from Nets Daily. The link from the Nets Daily message board links directly to the Nets forum on S2. Many of the Nets posters come to S2 to specifically talk about the Nets, and don't venture outside of the Nets forum for that reason.

It's like voluntary segregation.

If they are coming here from Nets Daily, they want to talk about the Nets.
