I like how he knows and respects the history of the organization and the connection between the team and the city. He may not be perfect, but he's better than Nate or Mo Cheeks. BNM
Funny but that has been the case for bunch of coaches. It wasn't too long ago George Karl was coach of the year. Thibs, Scott Brooks the list is pretty long. Heck Byron Scott was a COY. Weird?
I like Stotts. No coach is perfect, but I like it that he seems to give his players a green light to play their game. I also like it that he pays homage to the Blazer legacy. Dr. Jack for example -
Stotts is climbing the list for all-time Blazers wins as a coach. He'll catch McMillan this year, and Adelman next year (hopefully).
Not according to @HCP. He only has us willing 11 more games this season. I'd LOVE to see him catch Adelman in career playoff wins! BNM
I was surprised to see that Stott's winning percentage (0.547) is only a bit below that of Dr. Jack's (0.552). I figure after next year, winning 55+ games will get him pretty close.
Dr. Jack had some tough years after losing Walton. Tom Owens was not quite in the same league as Bill.
For everything Stotts isnt. Stotts is the best coach portland has had since adelman. Really it's not close either.
