His last season in Washington he was a great corner. Forget the numbers those dont apply to the CB position. He was a good CB before that too, I expect him to go back to his old-self this season back home.
It doesn't matter. Anyone that watched him for the last two years would know that he's worse. He played some base zone, he was crap. He played some base man, he was crap. Antoine Winfield seemed to play fine in both Cover two and 4-3... maybe that's because he's good and fred isn't?And along with all of this.. there's no way Smoot is worth 5 mil per year. The guy got cut.
Vince Carter got traded for Alvin Williams (who) because he played like shit in Toronto... people said he was getting old... look at him now.
Smoot went from good to bad. He's not going to reshift back into the high gear. And if he does, it will take a lot of stumbling, literally
And the fact that Washington still hasn't unloaded Springs shows a lot about what they think about Smoot. He's slated to be the nickelback right now.
I don't remember Smoot being bad. Now I haven't seem enough of him with the Vikings but it's hard for me to believe that he won't help a secondary that is not good! With the exceptions of Taylor, Washington could use Smoot, regardless if he's nickel or a starter. You guys should be mad that Washington hasn't release Springs!
Season isn't close to starting, watch what you say. Hopefully he breaks his leg or something soon, though.

Yet you retards still bring nothing in to help the CB's.</div>Better coverage fom your teammate helps you as a CB. Better run defense helps your coverage a lot too. We bring in Fred Smoot, who was really good in Washington, and David Macklin, a starter (who is 4th on our depth chart).</div>Your argument does not make sense though. You're saying Smoot was a good defensive player four years ago with Washington in a different scheme than Minnesota, the team he's been in for the past two years? The scheme hasn't mattered at all. In many of the plays, Smoot just doesn't know how to guard his man, doesn't matter if it's 4-3, 3-4, Cover 2, whatever... He gets burned by receivers that only half the people in the world know about.Stop being a homer without proper argument. You're just making yourself look like an idiot.
TWO years ago, not four. And it's all about feeling comfortable. In Minnesota he got BOOOOOS, in Washington he got SMOOOOOOOTs. In Minnesota, he had no friends except for strippers, whether they're male or female. In Washington, he was a fan favorite and Joe Gibbs called him "Smooter" (a.k.a. dildo, lol)
^^HAHHAHAThat is pretty much the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. You made up all of that. If he was good, he would have been a fan favorite here.
