I think a lot of contention, not just around here, is between some people that have had a covid case and believe that infection provides equal or better immune responses than they would have if they got the vaccine, and other people saying things like "if you don't get the vaccine you're going to kill me". I know, that is a generalization. There is just a lot of area in between those two positions and it has become pretty divisive. I don't think I've had covid, but I'm not 100% sure. I would have gotten the vaccine either way, but that's just me. Idk, here's a good article I read about it and explains the differences in how some geographic areas are addressing it and specifically the pros/cons of the USA's approach.

Absolutely and quite obviously. They are risking their careers, their homes and even their friendships by refusing to comply.

The real question is why isn't everyone doing their own research before allowing medical experimentation on themselves and their loved ones?

    Exactly.

As with any science, or anything in life, nothing is certain. It's no different than any medicine. There are side effects that can pop-up in any treatment (I mean, watching TV, when ads come on for various prescription drugs, some of the side effects are worse than the illness itself). I've seen it over and over throughout the pandemic (and throughout the Trump presidency), something can be 95% true or effective, and one person goes down a rabbit hole to find the 5% that is true or effective, and hoards of folks follow that 5% conflicting data and dig into it to discredit the 95%. Science, folks, is not 100%. You see the reverse with the perception that Intermectin is a great treatment for COVID.

Just because someone has done some research, that does not make them capable of reasonable understanding and interpretation. But again, everyone is entitled to their wrong opinion.

    Neither does COVID-19.

Yes, clearly. Folks' insistence on hoarding Intermectin supports this.

Accusing people of “trying to kill you” because they are hesitant about a new treatment is pretty over the top. It’s honestly these types of exaggerated, hyperbolic claims that are being used to justify treating law abiding, tax paying citizens like a second class simply because of a choice to not take a covid shot. It’s crazy that you have to accuse someone of attempted murder in order to make your demands seem legitimate.

Then why aren't they posting the actual evidence? Everything legitimate I've seen posted by somebody claiming vaccines are dangerous or ineffective has been misinterpreted by the poster, and has been called out as such by anybody with any relevant background.

So if they are doing that research they don't understand it.

I know it can be entertaining, but why engage with someone who isn't actually being serious

Even crazier is the fact that the BidenHarris government is saying the same thing Lanny is saying, and half the populace eats it up like lemmings.

Be grateful you don’t have “underlying” conditions. You’d almost certainly think differently if you did. And hope that you don’t develop a life threatening medical issue, because if you do, you are likely shit out of luck. How many more people have to die due to Covid related ignorance and recalcitrance??? I personally don’t need to do my “research” to know a vaccine will protect me. It’s simple common sense. Nothing more, nothing less. Politics has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Or you don't understand it, and you are misinterpreting it, and your idea of experts and relevant background is lacking in credibility...

As I stepped away from the computer to take a phone call, I was literally about to ask if anyone had ever seen Maris and johnnyboy in the same room at the same time, but here they are. :NOTMARIS:

Deliberate intellectual laziness is nothing to brag about, nor will it lend credibility to your opinions.

You just like to argue for the sake of arguing. I just passed through your neck of the woods and I didn’t think it was THAT boring. Maybe you should join a book club or something. Anything to get you out of your cave……
