FTFY. The 'and spread it to others' isn't part of the definition of immunity.

And, of course the wording change doesn't change anything about the vaccines.

That’s what I assumed was behind it; this idea that immunity means perfect, lifetime ability to not be infected by a disease. But that notion is just a misunderstanding of what “immunity” means from a biological standpoint. The immune system is a collection of biological cells and functions that our bodies have developed to resist bacteria, viruses and other agents that cause disease. Vaccines basically provide instructions to the immune system so that it can prepare for better defense when it encounters an invader that it doesn’t have information about. The protection is never perfect because our individual immune systems vary in their effectiveness and health, and because some viruses and bacteria are better than others at mutating and avoiding the defensive information that the vaccines provide. Immunity provided by vaccines against most, if not all, diseases fade over time. Even vaccines against polio and measles aren’t perfect in their efficacy. If the CDC changed its definition of vaccines, it was to make it more accurate.

I have not brought much to this thread, because I haven’t done as much studying or research as most on here……but this will be my last time I click on this thread, and I’m sure most don’t care.
My cousin just died from COVID this morning….. unvaccinated shit head. Leaves 2 kids in elementary school and a stay at home wife behind…..
This now brings my total to 4 family members and close friends who have passed.

GET VACCINATED AND WEAR A FUCKING MASK! QUIT FUCKING WITH OTHER PEOPLE LIVES!!!!
If you are still fighting this, maybe losing people in your life will open your eyes…..if you are STILL fighting this though, I doubt it.

Good point until they make an Immunity seatbelt there’s no way I’m wearing simply a Protection seatbelt. That’s bullshit

The hoops people will go through to try to invalidate this vaccine is simply pathetic.

Sorry, HCP. It's tough to lose a loved one to any disease, but losing one to Covid when it's so avoidable, is just awful.

immunity doesn't mean you can't transfer an airborne virus...you can touch something and carry the virus to someone else's life without knowing it...covid is not something we own as individuals...it's everywhere, vaccinated or not...that's the difference between airborne pandemics and other virus's ....you can transfer it by just not washing your hands and touching shit....people are so uninformed about the fact that we're all living with this shit floating around the air and landing in random places...it's not going to change with a shot...your chances of survival will change with a shot..and the world hasn't faced something this severe in over a hundred years...it's not going away unless we all join forces to stop it from incubating and using us as hosts...which is the frustrating part of people refusing to join the fight and thinking they'll stave it off on their own

Sorry to hear that. I think I’ve posted this before but my friend has been on a ventilator for the past 2 weeks. Another anti-vaxxer. It’s so sad.

These are the known side effects of Tylenol.

    Ty-le-nol.

There are no perfect medicines. There are no medicines that don't have some side effects in some people.

Look up the side effects of any prescription or over-the-counter medicine you take.

Look up the side effects of any vaccine you've been given.

This demand that the different covid vaccines be free from any and all side effects, and now that it also gives 100% protection is honestly ridiculous.

I'm not saying that you ignore the reported side effects of the covid vaccines but there can be a thousand different reasons for them.

Things like genetic markers, race, where a vaccine was manufactured, reactions to other medications are just a few of the things that can contribute to or cause side effects.

2 weeks is such a long time to be on a ventilator. That has to be very hard on his family.

Sorry, HCP. And so easily prevented.

A related topic. WHO announced first ever malaria vaccine. Malaria remains one of the great killers and it's a parasitic illness. Parasites are far more complex than viruses or bacteria and extremely difficult to find vaccines against parasites. This one is only 50% effective. Not great but better than zero. I doubt you will see antivax protests in Southeast Asia or sub Saharan Africa. Those protests are for the privileged.
