    You sure? From the article:

Maybe I am confused about what your stance was.

my stance, or off the cusp opinion was we should regulate unhealthy foods. Tax them more, etc. In the article you posted, one country went so far as to straight ban junk food of sorts.

You were told the simpler way was to cut subsidies to junk foods. Since taxing something you're also subsiding would be counterproductive.

Then if you still need to tax stuff you can go from there.

    Then you got offended.

But the main thing we need to do is get people vaccinated.
The #1 cause of death from covid-19 is lack of vaccine.
    2nd is old age.
3rd is comorbodity (diabetes, obesity, etc.)

A person I know who is currently in the hospital hoping to avoid the ventilator just got another elk during bow season.

His method of hunting elk is to track them down until they get tired of running from you. And he always gets his elk. Might take him 48hrs of following them through thick brush, over hillsides, etc...

The guy is in great shape. No comorbodity. 50yrs old. Not vaccinated. His nephew just died of covid-19 last Tuesday. Also not vaccinated.

    Fingers crossed for him.

Covid sucks. Sorry for your friends loss. But the original convo centered around a healthier America, this covid connection is just coincidental, but also emphasizes the importance of having healthier people, less susceptible to such diseases and viruses.

The original conversation wasn't related specifically to covid, necessarily. It was in regards to universal healthcare. You weren't advocating increasing taxes on junk food. You were offended that your tax dollars that went to UHC would go to people that might not be the healthiest, and you wanted them to pay more taxes than others towards it, IIRC. And others said instead, you provide UHC, and then you remove subsidies to junk food which would in turn increase the prices on those items.
You can "spin" it to your favor, but nobody mocked you for wanting to tax junk food, and if that's your recollection of it, you're finding a way to paint yourself the victim. People were annoyed that you opposed UHC because of a few unhealthy people taking advantage of things by eating chips and junk food. If they were condescending to you, it was because of the stance you were seemingly taking that many should suffer by not getting UHC, because of a few that don't take care of themselves.

I had my Pfizer booster at 430pm yesterday. Slept ok. Today, I've had moderate fatigue. I took a short nap and feel a little better but at about 60% right now. I had a sore arm, which I really didn't have after the first series.

Pretty sure it was in a covid-19 thread... And you're bringing it up Agian in a covid-19 thread...

Seems like a great way to cause a miscommunication.

Obviously, healthy people tend to be less susceptible to various illnesses and more likely to survive them. But plenty of previously healthy people have died of infectious disease.
    Get. The. Damn. Vaccine.

The exact amount of fully vaccinated population needed to reach herd immunity has never been known. 70% was always a minimum guess.

Better to talk to an attorney first. They need the money. I'm getting an attorney to do a power of attorney task plus a simple will and I feel like I'm stealing his services at a scant $350/hr.

I initially brought up taxing junk food as one of many solutions on the spot, as quick ideas to fund UHC. It's perhaps not a sound solution, just a quick thought off the top of my head. OB agreed with it.

OB thinks everyone should pay into UHC, others like yourself on here don't agree with that. That's ok. We can all agree to disagree.

Not sure why a 2 month old argument has popped up again.
