You know those times in life where everything turns white, then fades back into color, and the person you were talking to is suddenly talking about something else?

Isn’t it weird when that happens?

 

The hoax is the politicizing of coronavirus.

He uses hoax in a different sense. Like the "Impeachment Hoax". Basically using Impeachment as a tool to try to weaken him. Same with using Coronavirus as a political weapon.

During a Feb. 28, 2020, campaign rally in South Carolina, President Donald Trump likened the Democrats' criticism of his administration's response to the new coronavirus outbreak to their efforts to impeach him, saying "this is their new hoax." During the speech he also seemed to downplay the severity of the outbreak, comparing it to the common flu.

What's False
Despite creating some confusion with his remarks, Trump did not call the coronavirus itself a hoax.

 

That happens to me everyday.

 

So I actually have spent quite a bit of time googling this, and I think it's very plausible they have found medications that are effective in a majority of cases. Obviously a cure hasn't been found, but I wouldn't call this, "bs", I'd call this may be premature because the biggest case study I've read about is 75 people. We'll see. I don't know.

 

That's great. You realize that the crossed out portion doesn't change the context, right? He's still talking about the coronavirus when he says that "this is their new hoax." The crossed out portion is his digression about how their "old hoax" was the Russia stuff, the impeachment, something about counting votes in Iowa.

 

You can't see that edit at 27 seconds? I'm pointing it out to you specifically. Even freakin SNOPES is saying he didn't call it a hoax.

I work in pharma. My company is helping with the diagnostic testing and has a collab with a small biotech to find antibodies that can potentially work. It is quite possible that Chloroquine can help mitigate the virus, but until proper validation/trials are done, this is completely useless to talk about. But that won't let Trump stop him from speaking nonsense. This was the actual chronology from today's PC:

 

And before Trump and his minions start claiming credit for Chloroquine, let it be known that China has been evaluating its use to treat coronavirus for nearly two months now, with varying levels of improvement. South Korea actually recommended it to be used a treatment last month. Last week, France did a very small trial and saw clinical efficacy.

It's essentially a chemical synthetic version of quinine (discovered 4 centuries ago in South America) which is used to treat malaria, and was discovered in Europe pre WWII.

It shouldn't go unnoticed how he mentioned the price of a barrel of oil in his coronavirus press conference today.

Everything he does/says is to fool his base into voting for him again.

 

Big deal. The same applies to the sex life of 75% of Americans.

 

Japan AFAIK has done the largest tests / validations and has seen good results from what I read. Why is it completely useless to talk about though? What else should we talking about? What's wrong with hoping that this actually works for people...?

Here's another scary thought for you: Italy has a much better healthcare system than ours.

 

Saying a drug (that has not even been validated or tested in a trial) is FDA approved is freaking dangerous. Keeping your mouth shut and letting the experts talk is more useful than providing false hope. He did it (LIED AGAIN) only to try to help the markets and his approval rating. Nothing else.
