Nobody is forcing you to do so. In actuality, we all drive on the side that we were taught was the correct side to drive on. We do so by following a socially constructed set of rules. None of which we are being forced to comply with. But we generally do so out of our own sense of right and wrong, or society as a whole would never work.

This IMO is very different than forcing people out of a job for not getting a vaccine though. (I have already got mine, so I am not arguing against vaccines here, of course)

Well, if you refuse to drive on the correct side you will be thrown in jail.

That's far more severe than losing your job.

You can twist any social construct to be a loss of freedom.

Logic dictates that when millions of people are quitting their jobs because they don't want to be exposed to a disease you should probably try to limit their exposure.

You do that by vaccinating your staff.

People who still don't believe in vaccinations on here can you PLEASE give me your opinion on this. It seems pretty simple.

I won't be driven down this road. These are two different subjects.

Millions of people are quitting their jobs due to low, nonliving wages. That is the major force behind the "great resignation". At least from what I understand. So I would need a link showing that millions are quitting due to the unvaccinated. Because, while I am sure many people are doing so, I haven't seen anything on it myself.

And I agree. Problem is, corporations have been hiding their covid deaths. Deaths due to the companies own negligence. If they cared, they would have been protecting their workers better in the first place. And, of course, not hiding covid deaths from their own workforce.

I will post an article or video showing that this is happening. (when I can find it).

But your personal preference isn't the issue, the issue is the rule of law and how it impacts our freedoms. And the vaccine doesn't come close to impacting our freedoms as much as many things we've always lived with. The vaccine negatively impacts virtually nobody except people who are being misled.

Links and caring aren't as relevant to this discussion. These decisions are based on perception. If a company feels it will lose more employees by not forcing vaccinations it will force vaccinations.

They didn't have this problem before the pandemic, so it's not much of a reach to think people are afraid of the virus. And that's a far simpler and less expensive problem to solve than paying better and treating people better.

I have no doubt companies are hiding tons of stuff.

You seem to be simply saying that your preference is... more preferable than mine. :kidchocolate:

Now you are just throwing away the rules.

As someone who is generally a rule follower by nature, due to my autism. I can't have a conversation without rules. If we pit both our logic against each other. That logic is based on each of our own experiences, which will simply leave us in a never ending loop. Since we seem to be at an impasse here.

Not at all. Vaccines hurt nobody and prevent nobody from doing anything. They take 15 minutes of your day once or twice per year. There is no appreciable cost or down side.
However, building a house is extremely expensive because we have to build them to code in order to protect our community. This is very expensive and time consuming.
Cars are more expensive because of safety features.
You can't carry guns in certain places.
You are not allowed to drive 150 miles per hour regardless of the number of cars around you.
    You have to pay taxes

They will put you in jail if you refuse to follow the rules. There is no such law about vaccines.

No rule was thrown away. Companies will nearly always choose the simplest and least expensive option first. Forcing vaccination costs them nothing, and they will mandate it if they think it will save them money. Training and keeping employees are virtually every corporation's largest expense.

Do you honestly expect me to prove what each company's motivation is? This makes no sense.
You know when the great resignation started, yes? To assume or imply that the pandemic is not correlated with the great resignation is simply obtuse. Of course businesses can make that connection.

American fugitive, 34, who faked his own death to escape sex and fraud charges in US is caught by police in Scottish hospital after catching COVID and ending up on ventilator
    • Nicholas Alahverdian, 34, fled the US in 2018 after a fraud charge and DNA linked him to a sex attack
    • A fake obituary issued in 2020 claimed he had died of non-Hodgkin lymphoma
    • He was admitted to a Glasgow Hospital suffering from Covid last year and his condition became so severe that he was placed on a ventilator
    • He was arrested on an Interpol notice at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow on December 13, where he was intubated after nearly dying of Covid
    • Utah County Attorney in Provo is seeking Alahverdian over an unsolved 2008 sex assault
    • He used the name Arthur Knight when detained by Scotland police but it is believed he went under at least eight different aliases since going on the run
    • Alahverdian is a sex offender, having been convicted of two 2008 sex assaults

You don't seem to have gotten my original point. If you did, you wouldn't still be at this. No need to beat a dead horse.

This is what Floridians and our resident geniuses in support of non-vaccination call "fake news".

I distance myself based on new variants. I didn't have a family get together after we all got vaccinated due to the emergence of delta not long after. Omicron kept family away over the holidays. At this rate a new variant(s) will show up again soon and shoot 2022 all to hell.

    Must not have.

Employers having standards for their employees is nothing new.
