That wasn't my point at all. My point was/is that many, many of you in here keep pointing back to when he should have acted more strongly...and that lives have and will be lost because of it. Yes, let's all agree on that point.

The issue, now, in my mind is, how has/is he responding from there? Well, he and his team are out there every single day providing response updates, while, I believe, doing all he can to get us out of this mess. Sure, there are still shortages on equipment, supplies, and the like...but I think he has been engaging Congress, Governors, manufacturers, suppliers, etc. at every turn.

Sure, we can discuss and debate how well (or not) he's doing that, but my goodness people, can we at least try and somewhat come together during this crisis and give the man at least a little bit of credit/support moving forward?? If not, then so be it. Nothing to really say there.

However, I choose to be optimistic that he's taken charge and, I believe, doing everything within his scope to eliminate this virus and save lives. The graph I shared was just an indicator that seeming shows others feeling this same way. Hope that makes sense.

Actually, it was @SlyPokerDog who, I believe, said he was going to donate a bunch of the masks he had purchased - like, 2 big boxes worth.

We do have 8 of them, but our extended family has none, so we're keeping them just in case. As for now, the package remains unopened.

    Thanks for checking in. :)

Is it a better idea to keep them just in case instead of letting doctors use them in the next couple weeks to actually save lives?

I get that we all want to take care of our own. I think of you as a pretty devout, wholesome person. If six months from now you are cleaning out your garage, how are you going to feel when you see that package remains unopened, while doctors and nurses in your area were getting infected because of bad masks?

Or what if there's a doctor shortage in your area because too many get infected. Who will treat your family? Is it really safer holding on to those masks?

Sorry, I'm not trying to pick on you over this relatively little thing.

I am trying to make a larger point. I think it's natural for all of us to grab what we can for our family (hence the toilet paper runs). I don't agree with Trump on much, but I do agree we are at war here. In a war, you have to look out for the greater good, and usually by doing so you are also doing what's best for your family.

I've been reading his posts for years--probably at least a decade. I disagree with his politics immensely, and I don't always follow his logic, but I get the sense I'd be quite happy to have him as a friend.

As have I. But his utter ignorance of facts to push his agenda is tiring. Even the most staunch conservatives I know in my real life have come around to acknowledging how flawed Trump has been in dealing with this crisis. But here, we get posts like this: http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/abortions-included-in-tennessee-ban-on-non-emergency-surgeries-amid-covid-19-outbreak.355320/

At this point, this isn't even a question of politics to me anymore. It's morality. Some people are on the right, some aren't. It's fucking sad that a large, yet vocal minority of this country still are wrong even after facing raw hard facts.

Godamighty, if Trump really was taking charge I would be exponentially more worried. Governors and health care workers are taking charge.

I just spoke with my wife. We'll be donating all the masks we have. I'm not certain where to take them locally, but I'll figure it out.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

You know, if I kept making posts about a subject and most of the responses I'm getting is clapback, and they're from people who are far more educated than I am, far more eloquent than I am and in some cases from people who *agree with me* politically, I'd probably stop and look at my own motives for posting the same thing over and over, and trying to make funny comments in the middle of the discussions.

It's either because I'm oblivious of how I'm coming off, unwilling to admit I'm wrong about something and change my behavior...or I'm just trolling people for effect.

Police shut down Hobby Lobby stores in the Midwest that reopened in defiance of coronavirus restrictions despite being declared nonessential
    • Police closed at least five Hobby Lobby locations in Wisconsin and at least one in Indiana this week for violating stay-at-home orders
    • Arts-and-crafts stores claimed they were essential businesses because they carry supplies needed to make face masks, school and office supplies
    • All Hobby Lobby locations in Ohio remained open, despite despite a stay-at-home order that was issued by Gov Mike DeWine on March 23
    • Company reportedly sent store managers talking points for 'how to respond and communicate if visited by a local authority that asks why we are open'
    • Two weeks ago, CEO David Green sent a letter saying his wife Barbara had had a heavenly vision from God telling the chain to stay open during the coronavirus
